Chapter 191 - Chapter 190: Jennix

Why was Zhan Parker inciting these people to say such things to him? Even without thinking too deeply, Peter could easily guess the reason.

Wasn't it just about wanting to take control?

Zhan Parker had a strong desire for control, which was evident from the way he operated in Universe 616.

This guy had created numerous spider-robots in Universe 616, using them to monitor the entire city.

In the original Spider-Verse storyline, he had also competed for dominance with both British Spider-Man and the main universe Spider-Man.

Now, even though Peter had demonstrated his mystique,

as an experienced supervillain, Zhan Parker had encountered plenty of mysteries before.

There were many things he hadn't directly participated in, but he had at least heard about them.

After all, the main universe had fought Thanos and even taken on Galactus!

So, Zhan Parker had quite a bit of knowledge.

But that was all.

No matter how much he speculated, he could never guess Peter's origins or understand just how crucial Peter's mysterious powers were to the Spider Totem.

What Peter himself didn't realize was that after connecting with the Great Web and stepping into the realm of the gods beyond time and space, he had unknowingly absorbed certain mystical auras—related to gods, fate, and life itself.

For ordinary people, these auras might not be of much use.

But for the Spider-Men who were also connected to the Spider Totem, this aura was akin to the presence of a king within a tribe.

It carried an innate sense of intimidation.

And a natural leadership quality.

When this ability manifested within the Spider Totem, it resulted in the current situation: even though it was their first time meeting Peter, and Zhan Parker had previously planted subtle doubts about him in their minds,

the moment Peter's "royal aura" was unleashed, Spider-Punk and the others instinctively felt a growing sense of trust in him.

Even they might not have noticed this change clearly.

Because it was an unconscious shift.

Regardless, Peter had quickly begun winning them over.

Meanwhile, Zhan Parker was forced to suppress his restless ambition once again, becoming more compliant.

After that, following Peter's plan, the group split up once more.

Zhan Parker crafted a spatial travel device for each of them.

This time, the devices were upgraded—on top of Zhan Parker's technology, Peter had infused them with dimensional magic.

With this enhancement, not only would their dimensional travels be less uncomfortable, but they could also avoid the prying eyes of a certain individual to some extent.

That individual was Jennix—the intellectual powerhouse of the Inheritors.

The Inheritor family consisted of eight members in total.

Their leader was Solus, the first Leech Totem and also the patriarch of the Inheritors, as well as the Totem God of the Leeches.

The rest were Daemos, Morlun, Verna, Jennix, Bora, Brix, and Karn.

Among them, Karn was an outcast. Due to certain reasons, he had been exiled and left the Inheritor family. Now, he continued his solitary hunt for different Spider Totems.

Once he hunted enough Spider Totems, he would be assimilated by their essence and eventually become a Spider Totem himself—one that was the strongest of them all.

The God of the Spider Totem!

The Master Weaver!

Peter's current mission for Zhan Parker was to monitor and track Karn.

In the original timeline, he had done the same and even managed to rescue a few Spider Totems from Karn.

Each of the other Inheritors had their own unique traits as well.

Jennix is a "tech geek" who loves researching various technologies.

He is not particularly enthusiastic about hunting spider totems across different worlds—or rather, he is not keen on doing it himself.

He possesses three outstanding technological advancements.

The first is his cloning company located in the Earth-803 universe.

This world was conquered by him countless years ago and has since been transformed into a massive cloning facility.

At the core of this cloning facility, numerous spare bodies have been prepared for the Inheritors.

Since they are essentially physical manifestations of the Leech Totem, their bodies are merely a way for them to exist in the material world.

Thus, even if their physical bodies perish, they do not truly die.

If their current bodies are "killed," the cloning company in Universe 803 will simply "re-download" the corresponding Leech Totem into a new body, completing the resurrection in just a few minutes.

Other than slight weakness upon revival, there are no negative effects.

This technology has made the Inheritor family nearly invincible.

Therefore, finding a way to breach Earth-803 and cut off the Inheritors' backup plan is crucial.

However, invading this world is no easy task.

Countless cloned soldiers guard its perimeter, with highly vigilant security.

The world's superheroes and supervillains are all under Jennix's control.

In the core region, there are not only more advanced clone soldiers but also Jennix himself, overseeing everything.

Although Jennix does not enjoy capturing spider totems personally, that does not mean he is weak.

Moreover, if even Jack Parker could create a soul-swapping device, who's to say Jennix doesn't have some high-tech tricks up his sleeve?

This guy has conquered countless universes!

The second technological marvel is the aforementioned clone soldier technology.

There are several types of cloned soldiers.

One type is purely genetic cloning, where all soldiers are identical.

Another type consists of cybernetically enhanced beings. Jennix handed this technology over to Morlun, who used it to create a large number of cyborgs in one universe to hunt down that world's Spider-Man.

The third type is the "Hound Shackles," a technology given to Verna. She used it to control numerous supervillains, forming groups such as the Vulture Corps, the Kraven Hunters, the Night Hounds, and the Silver Sable Corps.

As for the third technological advancement, it is even more of a game-changer.

This technology was inspired by Jennix's research into the Web of Life and Destiny.

It is a Parallel Universe Mirror, which allows him to observe events happening in other parallel universes.

A similar technology exists at the Omniversal Nexus, where British Spider-Man resides.

But that is the stronghold of the Captain Britain Corps!

For Jennix to develop something like this on his own is no small feat.

Peter was well aware of this, so he remained cautious during their operation.

Now was not the time to expose themselves.

To delay the Inheritors from noticing their actions, he used his abilities on every device to block the Parallel Universe Mirror's surveillance.

Meanwhile, he continued searching for his target.

Coming to this era, where the Master Weaver was still alive, had weakened his connection to the Great Web, making it harder to pinpoint specific universes.

Unless something was happening in a universe that deviated from its natural course—

For example, the arrival of the Inheritors!

Wishing everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day!
