The darkness and silence of the night enveloped Trevor's car as he navigated the winding roads, the soft hum of the engine filling the air. Tina's presence beside him was palpable, her subtle perfume teasing his senses.
As he glanced at her, the dim light of the dashboard illuminated her profile, accentuating the curves of her face and the gentle rise and fall of her chest. Trevor's gaze lingered, his mind wandering back to memories of their past intimacy.
He'd already confessed that he was still into her, but she hadn't said anything yet. Could it be that she wasn't interested? Nah, that's not possible. He was starting to notice the subtle ways she'd been looking at him, even during their dinner. If she didn't like him anymore, she wouldn't feel so guilty and sad for something that happened in the past, right?
The air inside the car seemed to thicken, heavy with unspoken tension. The soft purr of the engine and the creak of the leather seats as Tina shifted her weight only added to the sense of anticipation.
As they approached Tina's neighborhood, the houses grew larger and more opulent, their manicured lawns and ornate facades a testament to the wealth that lay within. Trevor's eyes flicked to the GPS, and he turned onto Tina's street, the car's headlights illuminating the grand entrance of her mansion.
He was impressed. He didn't expect her house to be so grand. She'd explained that it was all hers and she lived alone. He wondered if she was lonely. He knew he was even though his place was way smaller than this.
As he pulled up to the entrance, Tina turned to him, her eyes sparkling with a hint of something unreadable. "Um... Would you like to come in for a... drink?" she asked, her voice sounding a bit unsure, yet low and husky, the invitation hanging in the air like a promise.
At least, he hoped it was a promise.
He didn't really think much about it though, lost in her eyes, the beauty of her lips in the night as he responded with a "yes." To which she simply smiled, getting out of the car and turning around to lead him inside.
As Trevor followed Tina into her mansion, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The opulent decor and lavish furnishings seemed to whisper tales of her new life, one that didn't include him. It really didn't feel good.
Tina led him to the living room, where she gestured for him to take a seat. As she busied herself at the bar, mixing drinks with a quiet efficiency, Trevor's eyes wandered around the room, his eyes confirming what he'd been thinking. The space was immaculately designed, but it felt sterile, lacking the warmth and personality that Tina's presence usually brought.
"You have a bar," he stated, not knowing what else to say.
"Hm. I have another one I frequent, but I thought having one in the living room would be nice for visitors."
"Oh."
When she handed him a glass, their fingers touched, and Trevor felt a jolt of electricity. He pulled back, trying to compose himself, but Tina's gaze had already met his. For a moment, they just looked at each other, the air thick with unspoken emotions.
Tina broke the silence, her voice a little too bright. "I'll be right back. I just need to change into something more comfortable."
As she disappeared upstairs, Trevor let out a slow breath. He took a sip of his drink, trying to calm his nerves. The silence felt oppressive, and he found himself glancing around the room again, searching for something to distract him.
He wanted to stand up and explore, but he didn't want to make Tina feel uncomfortable. They weren't as close as they used to be and she probably didn't want him touching her things. So he stayed put.
When Tina returned, she was wearing a flowing white shirt, her hair loose and tumbling down her back. Trevor's heart skipped a beat as she settled beside him on the couch, her proximity making his skin prickle with awareness.
"So how's work?" she asked, obviously trying to diffuse the tension.
"It's good. Things are going smoother than I ever imagined."
"I have to say, I didn't expect you to open the restaurant for real. But you surprised me."
He laughed, staring at his drink. "Yeah. It just felt like the right thing to do. After doing so much business with my Dad, then doing several cooking competitions after, I figured I'd try something new. Seemed like a good idea."
They talked for a while, exchanging small talk and laughter, but the undercurrent of tension between them remained. As the night wore on, Trevor glanced at his watch, feeling a pang of reluctance. He should leave, but his body seemed rooted to the spot.
"It's getting to midnight," he said after a while.
As he stood up to go, Tina walked him to the door. They paused in the entrance, staring at each other, the space between them vibrating with unspoken desire. Trevor's eyes locked onto hers, and he felt himself leaning in, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, gentle kiss.
The world around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, lost in the familiarity of each other's lips.
Their lips separated after a while, but the moment Tina said, in a fast breath, "Don't go," Trevor proceeded to devour her.
His hand gently grabbed her cheek, then her neck and then settled finally on her waist as he brought her closer to his body, occasionally breaking the kiss for breathing.
Tina, moaning at the roughness of his hands on her, wrapped her hands around his neck and her legs around his waist as she added more pressure.
"My room," she mumbled, breathing heavily as he ravaged her neck like a hungry man. "W-we should go to my room... The bed is s-soft and-"
Needing no more words from her, he did as she said after she rattled off instructions. It took them a while to get there as they walked up the stairs, filled with desire for each other.
But then they eventually got to the room. Which had a really big bed. Which made Trevor's imagination go wild as he placed Tina gently on the sheets.
"Come closer," she whispered into his ear as she brought his face closer. "Help me undress."
She didn't have to tell him twice, because less than a minute later, she was naked. So naked and so sexy.
"Fuck," he cursed, filled with desire.
