Cain could be seen sitting with a group of people at a table as he sat at the head, to his immediate left was the man with the shades that he dismissed from the house and to his left was a man with a skinny frame and sand blonde hair that nearly matched his brown eyes as he could be seen smoking a cigar with a shot glass of brown liquor in front of him.
To Cain's immediate right was two women, the first dressed as a nun as her attire was white with gold lining as she had blonde hair and blue eyes with a golden cross that hung from her neck while the second was a brunette with brown eyes as she wore black military cargo pants that held a pistol strapped to her left thigh and wore a grey sweatshirt.
"Any word from David?" Cain asked as the man to his right gave a firm nod "I got a check in from him fifteen to thirty minutes ago, he's okay" He said as Cain gave a low hum "Any ideas on how high the risk will be?" He shook his head as Cain sighed "I wanna to mobilize the kid." He said as everyone faces twisted in concern "Sir, forgive me if I sound like I am stepping out of line but how can we be effective at our jobs if we got some kid riding along with us?" The man with the sand blonde hair said as Cain slowly locked eyes with all of them.
"Vince, your job is to be effective no matter the situation isn't that correct?" He asked as the man gave a quiet sigh while holding his head down "What I am asking for is not the impossible, this boy managed to escape that place- so not taking him is out of the question." Cain said as he could tell this was weighing on them.
"What if the brat sticks with David while we raid the place?" Jackie said as she noticed Mathew's eyebrows raise at her suggestion while Cain's face remained neutral "Why is that?" He asked as she crossed her arms "That way the kid is safe and we'll be to find any of the missing people we're contracted to find." She said as everyone around the table began to nod slowly agreeing with her.
"Under normal circumstances I wouldn't want to employ the services of a child," The nun woman said while forming a small frown "But in this circumstance only, I'm okay with it." She said as Cain gave a low hum.
"Then it's decided, we're taking the kid tonight when we raid the enemy's home." Cain said as everyone nodded in agreement as he stood from his seat "Enjoy what time is left here and rendezvous on David's location once the sun almost finished setting." Cain said while getting up to leave.
On his way out the door everyone began to look at each other with strange expressions "I told you he'd bring the kid along." Vince said as he puffed on his cigar "It's a smart strategic approach Vince, don't act like Sir Cain's suggestion of bringing the kid is entirely wrong." Mathew said while Vince groaned and took his whole shot in one swallow.
"We're not in this line of work to be babysitters, I don't know about the rest of you but I'm in this to make a difference!" Vince said while gritting his teeth "The more I help Lord Siegfried…the more I complete these tasks, I truly feel as if I'm a step closer towards my goal- -OUR goal." He said while getting up and taking his shot glass with him.
Mathew sighed as he glanced over to the women he sat with "Do you feel the way he feels Cecile?" Mathew asked as she was silent only for a moment as the nun woman closed her eyes "I don't like the idea of intentionally putting a child in harms-way but what other choice do we have? The boy is the only survivor that we know of and he should know every nook and cranny." She said while lacing her fingers together.
"And if the brat doesn't know every inch of the place?" Vince said as he was back with the shot glass refilled with liquor "Don't become a liability while talking about someone else being one." Mathew said as it made Vince scoff at him "I am only four shots in so I'll be fine." Vince said while downing half the glass.
"Even if the child doesn't know every single inch of the place we still have an advantage by having a guide who knows part of it…" Mathew said while sighing slowly "Even if that guide is a child." He finished saying while pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Try not to stress yourself so much! We will be successful just like we always are." Cecile said as she can tell the whole situation was getting to him, in every assignment there will always be inconveniences but none of them ever thought they would have to deal with a inconvenience of this magnitude.
It was a responsibility they felt like shouldn't be theirs and no one knew what could happen on a dangerous assignment like this one.
