However, as a scientist, Tony couldn't suppress his curiosity about phenomena beyond the understanding of ordinary humans.
Happy, who knew his boss's stubbornness all too well, could only let out a heavy sigh. Quickly, Happy called for more guards from Stark Manor, which was not far from the location. Happy hoped the additional forces could provide stronger protection, though deep down, he wasn't sure they could do much.
Unlike Tony, who appeared relaxed, two other figures, Nancy and Sidney, displayed serious expressions. Nancy stared at the battlefield with sharp eyes, while Sidney nervously scratched his hair.
"Well," Sidney said, his tone sounding hesitant, "it seems that person is not an easy opponent. So... do we need to help?"
Nancy didn't respond, but her focused gaze on Mordo and Lance indicated that she was carefully assessing the situation.
Nancy glanced at her companions with a worried expression. The tension on her face became more evident as she spoke softly, "Rather than supporting them, I'm more worried that the police will consider them all a threat."
The bodies scattered inside and outside the villa were enough to intimidate the police on guard. However, the fierce battle between the two sorcerers left them frozen, unable to react for a moment.
As the magical clash continued, the roar of engines grew closer. A convoy of more than a dozen Chevrolet vehicles sped up and stopped in front of the police's isolation tape.
Men in black suits exited the cars neatly. They walked past the isolation belt without interruption, confidently stepping toward the police who were watching the chaos from a distance.
Among them, a man and a woman separated from the group and approached Nancy and Sidney directly. The two displayed official identification cards with swift and decisive movements.
"FBI, we're taking over this scene now," said a short-haired man with a slightly receding hairline. The man's face was adorned with a friendly smile, but there was undeniable authority in his voice. "I'm Agent Phil Coulson, and this is Agent Melinda May." The man pointed to the woman beside him, who stood tall with a cold gaze.
Coulson continued in a more serious tone, "From what we know, those two seem to be connected to someone I know. The man..."
But before Coulson could finish his sentence, the atmosphere in front of the villa changed drastically.
The girl, who had previously appeared to be losing her strength, suddenly rose with renewed energy. The souls of the fallen guards seemed to give the girl an extra boost. With a fierce smile adorning her face, she looked increasingly terrifying.
The girl began to sing a seemingly innocent children's song, but there was a sharp and eerie undertone within the melody. The song echoed in the air, making everyone who heard it feel uncomfortable.
The girl walked slowly towards the villa, seemingly indifferent to the three sorcerers standing behind her. The girl's focus was singular: to find Murray Anthony.
Mordo and Tina realized the danger. They immediately abandoned their fight with Lance and pursued the girl. However, as before, their steps were halted by an invisible force that seemed deliberately obstructing them.
Mordo wasted no time. He raised his staff with a firm motion and then thrust it forward. The space in front of them tore apart like shattered glass. The dimensional crack rapidly expanded, trying to reach Lance, who was still behind.
However, Lance reacted faster than Mordo had anticipated. With a nimble leap, Lance avoided the crack, causing Mordo's attack to miss.
Mordo snorted in frustration, but he did not stop. He knew that Lance did not possess a Sling Ring, meaning Lance would not be able to escape the Mirror Dimension if he got trapped inside. With this strategy, Mordo planned to seal Lance first, then confront the girl and the hellish power that followed her without interruption.
Unfortunately, Lance felt most prepared to face this trick, his mind observing the developing situation in front of him.
Lance's stubborn attitude finally infuriated Mordo, his eyes blazing with clear anger.
This time, Tina felt dissatisfied and, with a swift motion, drew a long staff from behind her. "Lance, your behavior will be punished by the Sorcerer Supreme," Tina said, her voice filled with threat.
"Sorry, I always keep my promises, and..." Lance wiped the blood flowing from the corner of his mouth with his palm, his tone remaining calm, as if unaffected by the threat. "I don't think the Sorcerer Supreme will punish me for something trivial like this. I've emphasized this several times. I'm just waiting for this girl to release her hatred, and naturally, I will destroy her. I haven't joined the darkness, so why should the Sorcerer Supreme punish me?"
"If you absorb the power of darkness, you must be destroyed immediately, no matter the reason!" Mordo roared angrily, his hand clenched tightly, and the Staff of the Living Tribunal embedded in the ground suddenly lifted with tremendous force.
"Boom!"
The ground beneath Lance's feet seemed to rise and crack, transforming into a collapsing mountain peak with a deafening roar.
"Landslide Magic!" Mordo declared firmly, and the ground shook violently beneath him.
At the same time, Tina swung her magic staff with a graceful yet deadly motion.
In an instant, a large magic circle appeared in the air, and three dazzling pillars of fire shot down at incredible speed.
"Burning Pillar Magic!" Tina confidently announced, her magical voice echoing in the increasingly hot air.
The two high-level spells exploded simultaneously, creating a tremendous blast that sent a wave of energy surging with destructive power.
Explosion!
The ground shook and roared like an earthquake, while the searing hot air pressed down, turning the scenery around them into a deadly chaos.
A group of "spectators" nearby staggered, feeling dizzy, as if they were facing a violent volcanic eruption.
The fading mountain peak and the falling pillars of fire immediately engulfed Lance in a wave of extraordinary power.
Coulson and Melinda, observing from a distance, looked confused and shocked. The power of the sorcerers they faced far exceeded their expectations, and it seemed there was more than one or two individuals with such extraordinary abilities.
