Meliza's POV
I was scrolling mindlessly through my phone when a notification popped up.
Jessa: Iza, you need to come to my place. I'm stuck with my report and can't leave the house.
I frowned, rereading the message. Jessa rarely asked for favors unless it was necessary. A moment later, another message appeared—this time with an address.
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. Just when I thought I would show her my new place and cook for her.
Shaking my head, I grabbed my bag and slipped on my shoes. But the moment I opened my door, I nearly stumbled back in surprise when I found Jet was already outside my door waiting.
I crossed my arms, narrowing my eyes at him. "Seriously? Were you standing out here the whole time?"
Jet, as always, remained silent, his face impassive.
I exhaled sharply. This was getting ridiculous. Eli had told me I'd be on my own, so why did he insist on having someone tail me everywhere I went? I wasn't helpless. I knew how to take care of myself.
