The hours passed in quiet.
The turtles had played around in their tank
Tang Shen stayed in her chair by the window, a book resting on her lap.
She had made tea earlier to drink while she read
Since Yoshi had left it was an uneventful day
Then came the knock.
Antonello's head snapped up.
It wasn't Yoshi. The knock was too firm. Too sharp.
Anttonello had also seen him leave with his keys before so he would have no reason to knock.
Another knock. Louder.
Antonello felt a prickle of unease. Something wasn't right.
Shen and Yoshi rarely ever had any guests over although the neighborhood liked them they never really had friends outside of each other
Shen exhaled slowly and, with great effort, pushed herself to her feet. She was unsteady. Antonello could see it in the way her hand trembled against the chair as she steadied herself.
The door creaked as she cracked it open.
Then, it was thrown inward.
Shen was knocked backward, stumbling as two figures in dark suits stormed inside. Their movements were eerily synchronized, their faces blank and expressionless.
Antonello's breath caught.
They weren't normal
"Specimen's home secured," one of them said, its voice cold, mechanical. "The woman is of no concern. Restrain her"
Specimen?
Antonello didn't understand. But Shen did.
Her frail hands clenched into fists. "Get out of my home."
The figures ignored her.
One reached into its coat and pulled out something black and sleek. A gun, but one unlike any he'd seen before.
Antonello's world shrank.
They were going to hurt her.
Panic clawed up his throat. He wanted to move to her. He wanted to scream for help. He pounded his tiny head against the glass, but it didn't make a sound loud enough for anyone to take notice.
Shen stood firm, her body frail but her voice steady. "I said get out of my home!"
The android raised its weapon.
Antonello screamed, but no one heard him.
Then, the door burst open.
Yoshi stood in the doorway.
His breath was ragged, his eyes wide as he took in the scene Shen, standing in front of the tank, the intruders, the weapon.
Then, he moved
He moved faster than Antonello had ever seen. One moment, he was standing at the threshold. The next, he was on them.
The first android barely had time to turn before Yoshi struck. His fist connected with the side of its head, sending it crashing against the wall. The second pulled its weapon, but Yoshi was already moving, his leg sweeping its feet from under it before slamming his elbow into its stomach breaking some glass and leaving shards in Yoshi's elbow
The first android rose again, but Yoshi grabbed a knife from the counter and drove it deep into the exposed wiring beneath its jaw. Sparks erupted from its skull as it tried to grab Yoshi but Yoshi was quicker he stabbed its stomach and the android went limp
Antonello should have felt relief. He should have felt hope.
But then he heard Shen gasp.
He turned back—
And everything inside him shattered.
She was on the floor.
Blood seeped through her clothes, dark and growing.
Antonello pressed himself against the glass, his body trembling. No. No, no, no. I DON'T WANT TO BE A NINJA TURTLE IF IT MEANS SHE HAS TO DIE
Yoshi dropped to his knees beside her, his hands hovering over the wound as if he could will it away. "Shen—stay with me."
She coughed weakly, her lips painted red with her own blood. "Yoshi… I missed you."
Tears welled in Antonello's eyes. He pounded his tiny head against the glass, his chest aching with the force of his own helplessness.
He couldn't do anything.
He was trapped.
Powerless.
Shen's hand lifted, shaking, brushing against Yoshi's cheek. "You have to go."
"No," Yoshi choked. "We can fix this, I'll—"
She shook her head. "Protect them my love and live a long and prosperous life... although I will miss you I know we shall meet again in the afterlife and there we can be together every day my love"
Antonello's vision blurred. He pressed himself harder against the glass as if he could reach her, as if he could stop this from happening. His body burned with something unbearable, something breaking apart inside of him.
"I'm sorry I couldn't stay with you all longer"
Then, her body went still.
And the world collapsed.
Antonello screamed. His whole body trembled as the weight of it crushed him. His heart pounded, his chest tight like something was physically squeezing the breath from his lungs.
Yoshi was shaking, his hands clenched into fists. His eyes, filled with tears, lifted to the new intruders at his door
"Specimen loca-"
A low growl rumbled from his throat. Then, without hesitation, he grabbed the knife and drove it into the closest android's stomach.
The blade slid deep. The android twitched, then fell limp.
But it wasn't enough.
Nothing would ever be enough.
Antonello could barely see through his tears. His head ached from how hard he had been pounding the glass, and yet nothing had changed.
She was gone.
Yoshi stayed facing the door with tears in his eyes the pain from the various wounds on his body mattered no more
Adrenaline drowned out all of his pain using his anguish as fuel
There were 6 more Utrom at the door each with weapons ready
Then he was gone, Yoshi moved like a wild beast toward the Utrom, knife in hand
An Utrom decided to rush Yoshi but was met with a brutal stab to the gut
Clenching their triggers the rest of the Utrom decided to fire upon yoshi
Knocking down the already broken door off its hinges Yoshi used it as a shield to get closer to his enemies
The next moments blurred together.
One, two, three, four then five more utrom androids fell at yoshi's feet all killed with extreme brutality
Knuckles now red from scraped skin bruises and blood yoshi walked to the tank picked it up and ran.
Yoshi ran through dark alleyways the heavy footsteps of those monsters following behind him. But he couldn't run forever Antonello could see the creeping tiredness on his face. Before long they were in front of a dumpster, the murderers too far behind to see them. Yoshi climbed inside, cradling the tank against his chest, his breath ragged.
Then, a voice.
"They're still out there."
Yoshi tensed.
Antonello felt his own heart pounding as he curled close to his brothers.
Seconds passed.
Then—silence.
The footsteps faded.
Yoshi exhaled.
He shifted, lifting the lid just enough to peek outside. The coast was clear.
Antonello let out a shaky breath. Maybe we'll be fine
Yoshi began moving toward the manhole deciding that the dumpster wouldn't be safe forever
He lifted the cover as silently as possible so as to not raise suspicion then began climbing the ladder into the sewer
But the rungs were slick
Yoshi's body, exhausted from everything, betrayed him. His foot slipped against the metal rung of the manhole ladder.
Antonello barely had time to react before Yoshi tumbled downward.
He landed hard.
The sickening crunch of something beneath him sent a shudder through Antonello's shell. A rat lay still beneath his form dead on impact
The canisters shattered.
Green liquid splashed across the floor, covering Yoshi, and Antonello's now shattered tank.
Antonello gasped, a strange heat spreading over his skin. His body felt like it was on fire, but he knew what this was, it was his chance to start changing things
Despite the pain raging across his body antonello drank the ooze as much as he could before he passed out

Sorry for not posting for t weeks there really isn't an excuse just a mix of lazy and forgetful
I was lazy when it was time to write so I put it off and forgot abt it then the same thing happened again
We are finally done with this arc tho so now the release schedule is officially bi-weekly
I have an official excuse now
Although we are done with this arc we are not done with this beginning period since I wanted to do a little more in Yoshi's perspective before doing a mini-time skip to turtle tot times
