I sprinted down the hallways of the TCRI facility, my breath ragged and my vision swimming. My entire body ached from whatever they had injected me with, and the fresh wound in my back burned with each step. But I couldn't stop. If I stopped, I was dead.
The metallic clang of my boots against the cold steel floors echoed around me. The hallways were a maze of twisting corridors, each lined with reinforced doors and glowing panels. Red warning lights flashed overhead, bathing everything in an eerie glow. The distant alarm blared, a droning sound that made my head throb even more.
Then came the heavy footsteps. Multiple. Fast. Organized.
I spun around a corner and barely dodged a blast from one of those futuristic rifles. The heat singed the side of my face, and I gritted my teeth, throwing myself against the nearest door. Locked.
"There! Stop him!" a mechanical voice barked.
I turned just in time to see three of the security personnel rushing toward me. I raised my stolen weapon and fired. The blast struck one in the chest, sending him crashing against the wall. The second one took aim, but I rolled forward, coming up right beneath him. With a swift uppercut, I shattered his visor, revealing a metal skull. Wires sparked where flesh should have been. Its glowing red eyes flickered for a moment before it lunged at me again, completely unfazed by the damage.
I barely dodged its strike, feeling the force of the blow rush past my face. I twisted, using the butt of my stolen gun to slam into its exposed circuitry. It sparked violently before collapsing to the ground, twitching as if struggling to reboot before I shot another blast into its head to hopefully end its existence
"They're not human," I muttered under my breath. "None of them are." I just needed to remember that
I had to move. More of them were coming I heard their heavy footsteps growing louder. I turned and ran, dodging into another hallway. I needed to find a way out. I needed to get back to Shen.
Pain flared in my back again, sharp and unrelenting. I stumbled against the wall, panting heavily. I was losing too much blood. My hands were slick with sweat and my own blood, my body trembling from the exertion. But I couldn't afford to stop.
Ahead, a set of reinforced double doors loomed. They looked important. Maybe an exit? I pushed forward, ignoring the screaming protests of my muscles, and slammed my palm against the panel. The doors didn't budge.
"Damn it! Come on!"
A sound behind me. The hum of an energy weapon charging.
I spun just in time to see an android, It held a different weapon, something more advanced. This one was sleeker than the rest. As it had no human clothes to hide its features, all it had was a brain,
In its chest
The brain was a greyish pink thing with what looked to be a mouth and closed eyes
Drawing me from my thoughts on how utterly bizarre everything that has happened today was. Its mechanical face twitched as it spoke in a disturbingly calm and robotic voice.
"You are not authorized to leave."
Then it fired.
I barely dodged, throwing myself to the ground. The shot slammed into the door panel, causing sparks to fly. I seized the opportunity, lunging forward and driving my elbow into the android's midsection. It barely reacted, grabbing my arm with a vice-like grip.
Pain shot up my limb as I felt the grip strength of the machine. I snarled, twisting my body, using the momentum to slam it against the wall before disarming it and using my gun to shoot it in the stomach
"SKREEEEK"
That must've been a death cry of some sort, as the rest of the body stopped moving
'Better you than me.'
*pew pew pew*
I turned back to the door. The panel was destroyed, but the shot had partially forced the doors open. Just enough for me to squeeze through.
Gritting my teeth against the pain, I forced myself through the gap. The edges of the metal scraped against my already wounded back, and I had to bite down a scream. But surprisingly, it did not hurt as much as I thought it would've. I touched my wound for a moment only to feel a smaller wound than what was initially given to me
Rather than questioning it, I moved forward
Beyond the doors was another chamber, but this one was different. Canisters of glowing green liquid lined the walls. The same kind of liquid they had injected into me.
I didn't have time to think. Footsteps were coming again. More androids, more danger.
I grabbed the nearest 2 canisters of mutagen, securing it to my belt. If they wanted this so badly, then I was going to make sure they didn't get to keep it. So I took up my gun and shot everything I could before the gun gave out on me
A vent. It was small, barely large enough for me to squeeze into, but it was my only option. With the last of my strength, I pulled myself inside, the sound of robotic voices echoing behind me, trying to force open the door

3rd person
In a dark room stood a man next to a desk, staring at a wall of cameras around him
Disrupting the darkness around the man, a woman in a doctor's coat and pants entered, leaving only her torso exposed
A torso that had an utrom embedded inside with its dark eyes open
"The specimen known as Hamato Yoshi has escaped the facility," The woman said
"Were the retrieval operatives sent?" The man asked
"Yes, the moment the alarms went off, operatives were sent to monitor all law enforcement facilities in the area as well as the places the specimen may return to, including his home, as per protocol," the woman said
"Very well, then you may return to your duties."
"Yes, Lieutenant Chrell," the woman said, but she didn't move just yet
"You know the general will be very upset with these developments, right, brother?"
"Thanks for telling me the obvious. Now, please return to your regularly scheduled unimportance, for you are not needed anymore, Ma'rielle," Chrell said
"Yes, of course," Ma'rielle said as she turned away to leave, leaving Chrell in the dark once again
Authors note:
Well, I said I was going to update the last chapter, but this is 1000 words, so I decided I'd just let it be its own action-packed chapter
Tell me what you thought of the chapter. It was the first fight sequence in here, and the flow was probably the hardest thing I've done
If the flow is good, then lucky you, your gonna get more of that in the future fight scenes
If it was bad then get ready for the shitshow coming soon
Either way, this is a TMNT fic, so I'm stuck writing action whether I want to or not 🥲
Tell me what you thought of the chapter and stuff You should know the deal by now
Anyway...
Bye
