Lysnder's POV
As I ask, those two glance at each other and then look back at me while taking steps back. I don't understand what is happening.
"Give us that kid."
Wait, they want a kid? Huh? Is this a joke? I glance at Brother Theron, who is standing there holding the kid—a delicate, fragile little thing.
And that kid is wrapping his hands around Brother Theron's neck. They really look alike, almost as if this kid is Theron bro's real son.
I turn my whole attention to those two soldiers.
"Why do you want that little kid? Tell me. Wait... I remember you. You were in the ward too, right? The one who was fighting with Silas to take this kiddo."
"No, we are not."
But I feel like this soldier was the one in the room a while back, even if he's denying it now.
And just in a moment, those two soldiers push me. I wasn't paying attention, so I almost fell back. But Kael came and caught me just in time.
"Be careful."
