Nergigante. A monster that could probably claim to have all that it needs close by. Plenty of bioenergy, no natural predators and, as long as the metal airbag does not appear, a comfortable resting area to retreat to after its hunts. Nergigante nips at the edges of its wings, struggling to pull off an overgrown spike. After a while, the pesky growth finally comes loose enough for Nergigante to grab.
He spits it into the pile of other overgrown thorns nearby, making a neat little sound as it lands. Now done preening himself, Nergigante begins to prepare for his favorite activity-napping. He huffs in content, as the nest is at the perfect temperature, the heated ground tenderly warming his side. Nergigante's eyes futter shut, and soon enough, a snot bubble appears.
The cavern falls into a serene silence, with the crystals overhead glimmering in the evening light that seeps through. The peace just as quickly disappears however when Nergigante's resting area rumbles. The extinction dragon's eyes shoot open, taking on a slight red hue. Nergigante leaps to his claws as he scans the area for what could disturb his precious sleep. The tension in his muscles rise as the cavern falls into an unnatural silence.
No red masked puffballs clamoring nor any insects that hum around him. And that's when the noise was heard. Quiet at first, the sound of heavy thumping grows louder in Nergigante's hearing overtime, the possible culprit drawing near. Next thing Nergigante knew, he was knocked to the floor by something heavy.
Nergigante rose once more and turned to face whatever shoved him. He felt the quills along his back sharpen along with his temper as before him stood the fat lizard that denied him of his meal. A phantom pain runs up Nergigante's wings recalling that day. The lizard opens its maw, putting all of his fangs on display yet making no sound. The nerve! daring to use silent intimidation against him in his own home!? Nergigante releases one of its most guttural roar to date.
He then lunges at the lizard, mind already filled with images of his victory. He will show this slob of boogers the MIGHT and PRIDE of the EATER OF EELDER DRAGONS!
POV Shift: Evans
"What the hell was that about?" Evans thought to himself as he watched Nergigante crash into the wall. The damn thing roared at him as soon as he was done yawning from how tired he was thanks to the admiral's shenanigans. Good thing he has not forgotten his manners, having Nergigante get well acquainted with his foot.
The pile of prickles pulls himself up to his feet again, the bloodlust now rolling off of him in waves. Evans ducks as a barrage of spikes flies past where his head was once at. Nergigante approaches, claws poised and ready to do damage. Evans blasts out fireballs, forcing Nergigante to abandon its aerial attack and take evasive maneuvers. Soon after, the elder dragon is brought down by Evans, tail, a hole forming on impact.
"Fly, swatted. now to dig up the body and-never mind he's still conscious. Truly is a hard headed individual huh?" Evans leans back as the attempted claw attack barely grazes his snout. Even an unobservant person could tell that Nergigante really did not like Evans. Getting bored, Evans decided to stop messing around. Electricity began to emit from Evans scales, with sparks shooting off the tips of his deployed dorsal fins.
Nergigante leaps backwards as it takes to the skies, hoping to evade the upcoming lightning attack. However, how could Evans have only one attack? Instead of the expected laser, a large ball of electricity condensed between his teeth. The ball is soon launched not at Nergigante, but to the ground in front of him. Believing the attack missed, Nergigante's guard slightly fell as it prepared to dive at Evans. This was a mistake though, as a field of charged plasma soon engulfed the area.
Nergigante crashes into the ground, muscles spasming from the electric current that entered its body. "Another perfect execution. the thunder dome works wonders." Not long ago, Evans had stumbled upon the different gas frogs of the area. Although his toes paid for the lesson, it gave him an idea. What if he could create some kind of substance that causes an effect? Evans got to work on this and ended up with the Thunder dome, a technique that bundles up the charge in his body with mucus that is moved to his throat to be expelled in mass.
"See you never you pathetic pinecone." Evans then gouged out a piece of Nergigante's neck, making sure that the wound was large enough to not instantly heal. And like that, Nergigante's eyelids grew heavy before closing, falling into a deep sleep he would never wake up from.
