Valentina stepped out of the bathroom, a fresh bandage wrapped gently around her wrist. The tension had faded a little, and Raymond had insisted they stop by for treatment before going home. Now, finally back in their living room, she curled up on the couch beside him, tired but comforted by his quiet presence.
At that moment her phone buzzed.
She reached for it without thinking, unlocking the screen.
And immediately she froze.
Her eyes widened as she stared at the headline:
"Sebastian Group Declares Bankruptcy — Assets Frozen, Company Liquidated."
Valentina sat upright immediately. "What?"
Raymond turned toward her, alert. "What is it?"
She didn't speak for a second, just handed him the phone. "Sebastian's family company… they've gone bankrupt. Liquidated."
