Arin quickly followed Ragna's voice to find the girl was speaking the truth. Where Ragna had dropped Hayla's body, breaking her spine, it was empty now. There were no more corpses.
"The woman is still alive!" Arin spoke in frustration.
"Yes! I can see that as well!" Ragna replied, agitated. "But the question is, where is she?"
"Missing me, dear child?" Suddenly, they heard an ominous tone from behind Ragna. Two frail hands appeared on her shoulders.
The fingers were thin but long, eerily long, and seemed to elongate further. A disturbing face emerged from the shadow on Ragna's left side. It spoke in her ear, "I knew my child would miss me!" and started laughing.
"I don't like to be touched!" Ragna was boiling with anger. "Especially not by a creepy old hag like you!" She grabbed the head with her hands, flipped the body over her head, and dropped it on the ground like a sack of potatoes.
