Sister asked four people to serve food on each of their plates—two men and two women. They began serving: one delivering fruits and vegetables, another pouring what seemed like mead or ale into their glasses.
Ragna gave an inquisitive look to Arin, as if to ask, "What should I do?" Arin shook his head, indicating, "Don't touch the food or drink." She nodded in agreement.
Everyone started eating, except Ragna and Arin. Sister Hayla noticed and asked, "Why are you two not touching your food?"
Lohan answered, "They didn't eat dinner, Sister; they had their meal earlier, before I could tell them."
Hayla responded coldly, "Did I ask YOU, Brother Lohan? I asked them; they should reply!"
She then turned to Ragna. "It is alright, just take a bite of the food and sip the alcohol a bit to show your gratitude to these good people of the village, who offered their hospitality out of the goodwill and good nature of their hearts!"
"Sorry, I cannot," Ragna replied. "Forgive me, Sister."
