Noah's breath hitched as Arachnea advanced, her elongated arms skimming the walls of the small room like the legs of a spider tracing its web. The sharp click of Noah's heeled shoes echoed off the wooden floor as he backed away, fists clenched.

Arachnea's lips curled into a smile that didn't reach her pale eyes. "Hm… You did not use that Step this time. So, you are learning."

Noah didn't answer or rather, didn't have the time to. He was indeed cornered—stuck into a room with a being that could move so quickly without using a Step and whose nails could cut wood like butter. 

Normally he would lose instantly with his current level of competence, but…

"(I just need to distract her… I can do it…)"

He was focused, hyperaware of the intricate webbing strung across the ceiling above. A trap, no doubt. But he needed time. Just a little more time.

Arachnea struck first. One of her arms snapped forward, fingers extended like a lance aiming straight for Noah's throat.
