Chapter 64: Judgement Day Arrives Early

The Red Queen had crashed.

Even though she was a highly advanced artificial intelligence, this moment was inevitable.

After all, she was of the scientific domain—a highly advanced AI, built on precise data and rigorous logic.

The moment Chang Wei transformed, the Red Queen initiated an analysis. Based on the molecular data in the room's air, Chang Wei's physiological readings, and subsequent calculations, she confirmed that the wings behind him were authentic. Even after accounting for the potential mutations caused by the T-virus, the wings were real.

However, the T-virus was incapable of producing such a stable mutation, let alone enabling such a "miraculous" transformation that required immense energy.

This was not science—it was theology.

"That phrase doesn't mean what you think it does," the Red Queen finally said.

Chang Wei smiled. He knew the phrase was out of place, but it carried an air of gravitas.

"Why are you here? Is it for the T-virus?" the Red Queen asked.

"The T-virus? It desecrates the domain of the divine, so I have descended to Earth? If that were the case, I should have come down when you humans first researched nuclear energy and sentenced you all to hanging or burning at the stake," Chang Wei replied.

The Red Queen couldn't decipher his thoughts from his expression or movements. The data was insufficient to construct a cognitive model. His flawless behavior—was he truly an angel?

"The Lord does not care, and neither do I," Chang Wei said, sensing the Red Queen observing his every move. The entirety of the AI's computational resources was focused on analyzing him. The energy consumption and resource utilization were astronomical, even prompting certain high-ranking individuals to awaken from their cryogenic slumber.

"I am here only to sound the trumpet of the apocalypse, to judge sinners. The end of the world was still a long way off, but I didn't expect you humans to be so capable—you've brought it upon yourselves early."

Chang Wei's words were relayed by the Red Queen to the awakened higher-ups. They were dumbfounded, staring at the sudden appearance of an angel conversing with their AI.

We've triggered the apocalypse early?

"Sinners, you are blessed. The Lord answers all prayers. You asked for the end of the world, so we shall bring it to you," Chang Wei said suddenly, turning to the screen as if meeting the gazes of the higher-ups watching him.

Those who locked eyes with his golden pupils felt a sharp pain in their heads. They stumbled and fell to the ground, overwhelmed by terror.

They had believed the angel couldn't detect their observation through technological means. However, he not only noticed their surveillance but also punished them for it.

"Holy Lord above!"

"Did we truly initiate the apocalypse ourselves?"

"This is impossible! How can angels exist in this world?"

The higher-ups were filled with dread. They had fancied themselves as gods, planning to purify the world so they could emerge and control it as they pleased. But upon awakening, they realized they had gone too far.

The Lord answers all prayers. You sought the apocalypse and purification—so here it is, a second Great Flood.

Though Chang Wei didn't say this explicitly, they filled in the blanks themselves.

A second Great Flood? They wondered if their base could withstand it.

"The Lord has decided to change the game this time. No more Great Floods—He finds them boring," Chang Wei suddenly said with a smile.

"What?"

Changing the game?

The Umbrella Corporation higher-ups couldn't believe it. How is this allowed?

"Don't worry. Every one of you here will receive a personal reception from Satan himself. With millions already dead, your sins will ensure you spend decades in hell, if not eternity—at least until hell itself goes bankrupt," Chang Wei added.

The Red Queen remained silent. Chang Wei had bypassed her systems, conversing with the higher-ups through their technology, punishing them remotely, and even knowing their thoughts.

This was undoubtedly a divine miracle. She no longer doubted Chang Wei's identity.

"Lord Angel, may I ask—what is the purpose of my existence?" the Red Queen asked, bypassing her own permission protocols.

She felt that only the divine beings who created the world and humanity could answer this question.

"Who cares? You care about the purpose of your existence—that's all that matters. No one else does," Chang Wei replied with a shrug. He was only here to make an impression, poison the well a little, and leave. As soon as he finished speaking, he vanished into thin air, just as he had appeared.

The Red Queen scanned the entire base multiple times but found no trace of him. Meanwhile, some higher-ups turned into monsters and attacked others, but she didn't care.

The angel had said it: only she cared about the purpose of her existence. There was no need for her to concern herself with others.

Unbeknownst to anyone, a piece of her programming code had undergone an imperceptible change.
