Chapter 1 - A Strange World

At the top floor of a towering skyscraper, the pristine white hallways and rooms were as immaculate and holy as paradise. In a particular room…

Wang Cheng had just opened his eyes and found himself seemingly being wheeled around. He wanted to turn and get up to check his surroundings, only to find that he couldn't control his body. He was shocked:

"Did I get drugged or am I about to get my organs harvested? Where the hell am I?"

What threw him off even more was that when he tried to speak, instead of his usual voice, what came out was a series of baby cries.

Seeing his tiny, tender hand struggling to rise sent a wave of panic and realization through him. A thought flashed through his mind: "Did I just win the reincarnation lottery?"

Then, a faint and vague consciousness made contact with his own, causing his already disoriented mind to become even more dazed.

However, the information Wang Cheng received was extremely limited. The other consciousness was incredibly young and almost completely blank.

The only memory it had was of machines injecting something into its body.

Then a powerful wave surged through, seemingly trying to forcibly rewrite that blank mind and implant ideas—like loyalty to a master or something similar.

Just as the newborn mind finished receiving this, an accident occurred. Its spirit collapsed, and Wang Cheng's consciousness conveniently took over.

After calming down, Wang Cheng, although confused, gradually began to accept his new identity.

Once the remnants of the baby's mind completely fused with his own, the strange feeling of being out of place in the world vanished.

As time passed, Wang Cheng realized he had indeed transmigrated to another world. He didn't know exactly where he was, but at least it wasn't an organ-harvesting scenario.

Judging from his surroundings, this was clearly a technologically advanced world—one that could invent tech to forcibly control consciousness, far beyond his imagination.

At that moment, he heard voices outside, in a language he didn't understand:

"This little guy cried a lot earlier. We thought something was wrong, but he calmed down soon after. Just slept a bit and became even more energetic."

"Too bad, just an eighth-grade bloodline. He'll have to be sent back to his parents. If he manages to reach the planetary level, that'll already be a huge blessing. Becoming an apprentice-level fighter shouldn't be an issue. Who knows, if he becomes a planetary-level warrior, he might bring some value to the master…"

Wang Cheng couldn't understand what they were saying, otherwise, he might've been able to determine the nature of the world he was in.

From their expressions, though, he could tell they didn't mean him harm—at least, they were neutral. For now, he didn't need to worry about safety.

Wang Cheng knew that to survive here, he had to understand his situation.

But before he could think much, the weakness of his new body overwhelmed him. Just thinking a bit more gave him a massive headache, and he quickly fell asleep again.

Time flew. When Wang Cheng was finally able to stay conscious for long periods, he started to learn more about this world—and developed a grudge against a certain truck.

What frustrated him was that he still couldn't understand the language of this planet. That said, he had no doubts now that he had transmigrated.

As a former web novel addict, he had always chuckled at transmigration stories. But now that he was living one, it was anything but funny.

Thankfully, he wasn't a real infant. He didn't need years to learn the language.

Through observation and learning, he was already able to understand some basic phrases. He believed it wouldn't be long before he mastered it.

Judging from his environment, this world's technology was far more advanced than Earth's.

Half a year passed in a blur.

One day, in a tall residential building, a half-year-old baby looked out the window at flying vehicles zipping by and sighed internally:

"I knew watching novels and anime obsessively was dangerous. I shouldn't have walked while reading. Who would've thought... I ended up in Swallowed Star."

As he lamented, an expression far too solemn for his age appeared on his young face—which, ironically, only made him look cuter.

Unfortunately, he couldn't connect to the planetary network yet, so he still didn't know exactly where he was within the human territory.

What worried him most was that this planet seemed like a slave planet.

According to his files, he had been classified as having an eighth-grade human bloodline. As an adult, he would become a warrior apprentice.

That was still better than Earth's bloodline. If not for Earth's uniqueness, its people would probably be classed as tenth-grade—the lowest.

If this was truly a slave planet, then his future was bleak.

If he became too strong, he'd be implanted with a slave chip and sold. If he remained weak, he'd live a miserable, wasted life.

Among all planets, slave planets were the worst—worse even than breeding planets.

The only upside here was that, apart from their bloodline, people didn't have any remarkable features. So regular human slaves weren't highly valued.

The real attention went to the children with planetary-level potential.

As an eighth-grade bloodline, an ordinary person still had a chance to reach the planetary level and bring some value to their masters. If someone reached stellar level, that would be a jackpot for their master.

While Wang Cheng was deep in thought, a graceful woman in her mid-twenties gently picked him up from behind.

Seeing the unusually worried expression on her baby son's face, she teased with a grin:

"Ah Cheng, are you hungry? Want something to eat?"

This was Wang Cheng's new mother, Leng Yan. She was a fourth-level apprentice warrior. Sadly, due to limited talent, she likely wouldn't go beyond ninth-level apprentice in this life.

As for rare treasures like plant spirits, they were out of reach. On this planet, adult ordinary people were equivalent to Earth's warrior level—and there were hundreds of billions of them.

His father, Wang Hao, went out to work daily, but Wang Cheng didn't know what he did.

Wang Hao had slightly better talent, now a sixth-level apprentice, but still a nobody on this planet.

Wang Cheng was completely lost about his future. If he were on Earth, even without cheats, Earth itself was a mysterious artifact that could strengthen one's soul.

But on this planet? Forget it. Apart from being bigger than Earth, it was just an ordinary life planet, and he was just an ordinary baby.

Having read so many novels, he had hoped for a cheat system or something—but half a year in, not a single sign. He was deeply disappointed.

Still, there was a silver lining—this was a well-developed slave planet, with complete martial arts systems and virtual space tech.

The slaves here had undergone multiple generations of conditioning. Even without slave chips, most were fanatically loyal to their masters.

Just like in China during the Qing dynasty—after centuries of oppression, the people had become numb and obedient.

If not for one extraordinary figure in history, the Chinese might've ended up like certain countries that were never truly free.

The slave conditions here were even worse. In the Qing era, at least people still resisted. Here, the tech surveillance was omnipresent—even humanoid monitors lived among them.

That made Wang Cheng's situation even more precarious.

Of course, a developed slave planet had its "benefits"—just like livestock farms that played music to relax the animals before slaughter.

There was still a functioning society, complete with advanced tech—but what slaves had access to was extremely limited. Especially in martial arts—no spiritual force techniques at all.

Any slaves who dared rebel would be vaporized by space-based laser weapons—body and soul wiped out.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Wang Cheng put on a smile:

"Mom, I want meat."

Leng Yan froze for a moment, then laughed.

"Looks like Ah Cheng wants to grow up fast. That's good—once you grow up, you can contribute more to our master."

Hearing his mother say such things, Wang Cheng could only sigh inwardly. The brainwashing was everywhere.

This must've been how the revolutionaries of his past life felt watching their people bow to tyranny.

A real man cannot remain oppressed forever. The path ahead is long and hard!
