Chapter 74: Vampires That Aren't Effeminate

A group of staggering "people" appeared before them.

Their faces were a deathly grayish-blue, clearly either makeup effects or actual corpses.

Chang Wei immediately associated this scene with the video game Resident Evil. After all, these "people" resembled zombies quite closely. However, what surprised him was that the police's attacks had no effect on them. Even headshots didn't seem to work.

Still, Chang Wei didn't intervene. He allowed the police to be slaughtered by the creatures. The only exception was a blonde, curvaceous female officer whom Chang Wei saved.

"Seras?"

Looking at the blonde policewoman he had just rescued, Chang Wei saw that she appeared shaken and disoriented.

"You know me?"

The blonde officer was shocked. After seeing Chang Wei, she was certain they had never met. Otherwise, she would have remembered him.

"Seras Victoria… So this is that world."

After confirming his suspicions, Chang Wei smiled.

The world of Hellsing, or as it's also known, The Royal Order of Protestant Knights!

A world filled with bloody, violent, and classic aesthetics, as well as madly charismatic vampires. It put those "effeminate" vampires to shame—though he didn't include Vampire Hunter D in that group, despite D's somewhat feminine appearance.

Chang Wei liked this world. He wasn't drawn to its wars but to the uniquely vibrant characters within it.

For Chang Wei, this world was a veritable treasure trove.

Leaving aside Schrödinger's nonsensical quantum observational abilities, everything else—from Father Anderson's sacred bayonets to the special abilities of the troops in the final battle—was highly valuable. These items could grant him access to powerful mysteries.

At this moment, the ghouls were stumbling closer.

Although Seras was terrified, she stood in front of Chang Wei to protect him. She was a police officer, after all, and her duty was to protect civilians, regardless of her own gender.

"Ghouls, huh…"

Chang Wei pulled Seras behind him.

"Wait, sir!"

Seras tried to stop him, but before she could, the heads of the ghouls in front of Chang Wei began spinning on their own. After several rotations, their heads fell off.

This was Alucard's technique. Chang Wei had always thought it was incredibly stylish and imposing. Now that he possessed telekinesis, he could replicate it, effortlessly snapping necks. Naturally, he had to test it out.

Ghouls were people who were bitten by vampires but were neither virgins nor pure maidens. Their weaknesses included sunlight and silver. Even headshots wouldn't kill them. Although they moved slowly, there were ghoul units armed with weapons and capable of following orders. Still, Chang Wei had no intention of absorbing them.

"What is this? What just happened?"

Seeing Chang Wei in a priest's uniform, Seras quickly grabbed his arm to ask.

"I'm not entirely sure, Officer."

Chang Wei smiled, using his psychic abilities to locate a vampire hiding nearby. It seemed to be the church's priest. Using telekinesis, he forced the vampire out of hiding, smashing him through a wall and onto the ground before him.

"Well, well, priest—or should I call you the Bloody Priest?"

Chang Wei stepped on the vampire's face with a mocking tone.

Seras was utterly confused by the situation.

At that moment, Chang Wei looked toward the church's entrance.

Standing there was a tall figure wearing strange glasses, a red top hat, and a long red coat.

"Well, priest, did I interrupt your judgment session?"

The figure teased.

Alucard.

Seeing this iconic king of vampires, Chang Wei felt like he was on a pilgrimage to a holy site.

"First of all, I'm not a priest," Chang Wei said as his outfit transformed into a coat resembling Nero's from Devil May Cry 4.

Alucard watched this transformation with interest. Having lived for so long, he'd seen countless strange abilities and wasn't surprised.

Chang Wei, unconcerned with Alucard's thoughts, contemplated the depth of this world's mysteries. Schrödinger's quantum abilities, the existence of holy artifacts—all of these made the world incredibly enigmatic. Even if an angel were to descend later, Chang Wei wouldn't be surprised.

"So, who are you?"

Alucard asked.

"An exorcist from the 'Mind Your Own Business' department, under the joint supervision of Wudang Mountain, Dragon Tiger Mountain, White Cloud Mountain, Mount Laojun, and Mao Mountain in Yan Dynasty!"

This long-winded title sounded incredibly impressive to Seras and any British onlookers unfamiliar with its meaning. Chang Wei's mysterious tone and serious expression sold it completely.

Seras, understanding only the term "exorcist," was thoroughly convinced. The rest sounded like an unintelligible jumble of letters to her.

Alucard wasn't much different. While he deduced that Chang Wei was an exorcist from Heavenly Dynasty, the specifics eluded him.

Yan Dynasty?

That mysterious land. Alucard had always operated in Britain and had never ventured there. He only knew it as a place untouched by the light of the Lord. This piqued his interest and goodwill.

"So, what brings you here?"

Alucard asked, showing no concern for the fate of the vampire priest.

"I'm just here for a vacation, but I didn't expect to encounter this situation. Is this one of your subordinates?"

Chang Wei feigned ignorance of Alucard's identity.

"No, I'm Alucard from the Royal Order of Protestant Knights' Monster Processing Division," Alucard replied simply. Despite being their ace, he was overworked, having to handle every supernatural incident and monster, even minor ones like these ghouls.

After all, Walter was no longer young. If he didn't take care of himself, his aging body wouldn't hold up.

"An officially sanctioned vampire?"

Chang Wei raised an eyebrow.

"What a pity."

He then crushed the vampire priest's head underfoot, compressing the body into the size of a sugar cube. The sight horrified Seras, though Alucard remained indifferent. With millions of lives at his disposal, no ability posed a genuine threat to him.

"Pity about what?"

Alucard asked, deliberately baring his fangs.

"That's it, vampire," Chang Wei replied, pulling Seras along as they disappeared in an instant.

Alucard paused. With his enhanced senses, he confirmed that Chang Wei's heartbeat and other signs of life had vanished. In other words, Chang Wei had truly left.

"What an interesting exorcist," Alucard remarked with some regret.

It was a perfect night for a killing spree, yet his target had been stolen.
