Chapter 76 - Chapter 76: Soaring in the Sky

Early the Next Morning

Peter woke up on time, as usual. After getting out of bed, he walked to his usual spot—the one with the best sunlight exposure—and began absorbing the warm rays of the morning sun.

"Ah~ Nothing beats basking in the sun," he sighed in satisfaction.

The feeling of the sun's warmth soaking into his skin, invigorating his cells, and enhancing his strength was nothing short of exhilarating. Every time he absorbed the sunlight, he could feel himself growing stronger. It was an addictive sensation—one that he had come to cherish.

But today felt different.

After just two minutes, Peter sensed something unusual in the air around him. A strange force field seemed to be forming, subtly influencing the space around his body. He furrowed his brows and focused, trying to decipher what was happening.

And then it hit him.

He had awakened the biological standpoint.

A surge of excitement rushed through him as he carefully analyzed the ability. This was a game-changer. The biological standpoint was an essential skill for beings of immense power—especially for someone like him, whose strength had already reached terrifying levels.

Sure, Superman was known for lifting planes, skyscrapers, and even mountains, but physics itself dictated that such feats should be impossible. A single point of contact with an object as massive as a plane would exert immense pressure, instantly crushing it under its own weight.

But with the biological standpoint, Peter could control the gravitational and repulsive forces in his immediate surroundings. This meant that when he touched something or someone, he could distribute the pressure evenly, preventing objects from breaking apart due to the sheer force of his strength.

Before today, he had always needed to be extremely careful when interacting with people—especially Lucy and V. Even the slightest lapse in control could have dire consequences. That meant he had been subconsciously holding back all the time, diverting a large portion of his mental energy to restraint.

But not anymore.

With this new ability, he could interact freely without constantly monitoring his own strength. Whether it was a battle, casual activities, or intimate moments with Lucy, he no longer needed to hold back.

Peter also realized another key benefit: he could now control every single cell in his body.

That was an even bigger deal than he initially thought. If major corporations or underground organizations ever got hold of his DNA, they could potentially clone him—or worse, engineer weapons specifically designed to counter his biology. But now, he had full control over his body at a cellular level.

If he didn't want to leave behind genetic material, he wouldn't. Even an immortal being wouldn't be able to extract useful data from him.

His lips curled into a smirk.

"This ability is even more broken than I thought…"

Then, another thought crossed his mind.

"If my biological standpoint has awakened… then what about flying?"

As soon as the idea entered his mind, his body responded instinctively.

He floated.

Peter's eyes widened in disbelief before pure excitement took over.

"It actually worked! I can fly!"

For a moment, he just hovered in place, absorbing the sheer awesomeness of this newfound ability. He had always envied flight, having relied on his super speed for travel until now. But that made him feel more like a buffed-up Flash rather than a true superhuman.

Now?

Now he felt like a real Superman.

Just then, a voice rang out from behind him.

"Peter! What the hell?! Why are you floating?"

V had just woken up and was on her way downstairs to grab a glass of milk when she saw him levitating in midair.

Peter turned to her with a grin.

"I think I just unlocked the ability to fly."

Meanwhile, Upstairs…

Lucy, still groggy from sleep, opened her eyes. As her vision adjusted, she found Peter hovering outside her window, staring at her with an amused expression.

She blinked.

Then blinked again.

"What the hell is going on?" she muttered, sitting up.

Peter smirked.

"Lucy, I've been meaning to tell you something for a long time…"

He then proceeded to explain everything—his unique physiology, the effects of sunlight on his body, and how he would continue to grow stronger over time.

Lucy sat in stunned silence, trying to process the sheer insanity of what she had just heard.

"So, you're telling me that as long as you bask in the sun, you'll keep getting stronger? And you'll keep unlocking more abilities?"

"That's right."

Lucy's head spun.

This world had already seen unthinkable technological advancements—cybernetic enhancements, artificial intelligence, netrunning—but Peter's abilities?

This was on a whole different level.

"I swear, this sounds like something out of an old-school sci-fi novel," she muttered.

Peter chuckled.

"Speaking of old-school sci-fi… how would you and V like to see Night City from the sky?"

Lucy glanced downstairs, where V was still standing in shock. Their eyes met.

A silent understanding passed between them.

"I'm in," Lucy said.

"Same here!" V added, excitement flashing in her eyes.

A Flight Over Night City

Moments later, Peter took to the skies, carrying both Lucy and V with him. The cityscape stretched out beneath them, sprawling and breathtaking from this altitude.

"Holy shit, this is insane!" V exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder.

Growing up on the streets, she had always dreamed of soaring above the city, but she never imagined it would actually happen—without a plane or a flying car.

"This is freedom…" Lucy murmured.

She had spent years trying to escape her past, searching for a sense of liberation that Night City had promised but never delivered.

Flying through the open sky, away from the grime and chaos below, she finally felt it.

True freedom.

Night City had always been described as the city of dreams, but for most people, it was a nightmare—a battlefield where gangs, corporations, mercenaries, and criminals fought for control while civilians struggled to survive.

She had believed that, eventually, she'd become just another casualty of this world.

But Peter…

Peter had changed everything.

The thought made her heart swell.

Impulsively, she turned to him and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek.

Not to be outdone, V smirked and did the same.

Peter stiffened.

The unexpected double kiss sent a shiver down his spine.

He glanced between the two women, unsure what conclusion they had reached after their argument last night.

But one thing was clear.

Whatever their arrangement was, he wasn't complaining.

Peter let out a breath and grinned.

"Alright, ladies. Hold on tight—we're going even higher."

With that, he soared further into the sky, with Lucy and V by his side.

For the first time in a long time, he felt completely free.

And he wasn't alone.
