Chapter 25 - Room one

"If we didn't serve you then how else would we earn money? Your husbands pay your debt every now and then. Sure, it wasn't enough to pay off your debt, but it's enough to lessen the numbers in your increasing tab." The woman said, a taunting tone in her voice.

How could a beautiful woman like her be this wicked? She basically told Coco that she likes how her husbands comes back to the inn to pay Coco Hughes's debt that will increase no matter what because of the interest.

"Just give me my room and the key, I would like to retire for the night." Coco frowned at her, not liking the taunting and condescending tone of her voice anymore.

She couldn't believe how she almost swooned at the woman because of her good looks. Coco sighed deeply and shook her head, looking away from the woman.

"She's a bad person, Coco!" Lala exclaimed, glaring at the woman in front of her as she crossed her arms, "I can't believe her! She knows that Coco Hughes isn't good or thinking straight, but she still gave her drinks!"

Coco couldn't agree more to the red fairy's statement. It's one way to get yourself a slave that will work for you for the rest of their lives, and sadly, Coco Hughes's husbands were a victim to that.

The woman behind the desk let out a huff and grabbed the key hanging on the wall, "Your room is room number one. The first room on the second floor, on your left."

The woman slammed the key on the desk, her eyes narrowed towards Coco and Coco simply snatched the key from the wooden surface, quickly shuffling away from the lobby to get to the staircase.

"I should plant a cactus or man-eating plant on her house, Coco! I don't like her." Lala was pouting and huffing angrily, still sitting on Coco's shoulder and had her arms crossed in front of her, "She's so mean. You're not even Coco Hughes, but you have to pay that debt even though it's not yours!"

Coco ascended the stairs and stepped quietly on the second floor. She looked around the hallway to see if there's anyone there, but to her relief, there's no one.

"We don't know where she lives." Coco responded with a hum, pushing the key to the keyhole and opening the door, "If you do plant something good in her house, make sure to tell me, okay? I want to be in your games."

A happy and excited gasp left Lala's lips, "You won't stop me?"

Coco closed the door, clicked the lock on and dropped the key on the table on the corner of the room as she shrugged her shoulders, "No. She deserves it. I was being nice to her, but she was mean, alright. Just don't hurt her too much and be the cause of her death."

Lala beamed brightly, her eyes wide with excitement and happiness as she flew towards the door, "Open the door, Coco! I'll follow her right now! I'll come back later and call for you so you can open the window for me, okay? Don't fall asleep on me!"

Coco chuckled at the sight of eagerness on the garden fairy's small form, she was practically bounding in the air and was flying everywhere due to her excitement.

"Sure, sure." Coco agreed dismissively and opened the door for the fairy.

"Don't fall asleep!" Lala said as she slipped through the small crack of Coco's door, the golden dust from her red transparent wings cresting a beautiful trail behind her as she flew away from Coco's room.

"I won't, I won't." Coco hummed out, mumbling the words of assurance under her breath as she watched the fairy take a turn towards the staircase.

Seeing that the fairy isn't going back soon, she went inside the room and closed the door, clicking the lock in place and ensuring her safety inside the rented room for a while.

"Now.. What should I do?" Coco wondered out loud and looked around the room.

"Since I don't have much to do, I should just work out, shouldn't I?" She asked herself and tilted her head, "I mean.. Just thinking of doing exercises is enough to give me goosebumps.. Eh, whatever."

She doesn't have much to do so she ended up working out inside the room.

She took off her green robe and placed it on the chair, she tied her hair in a messy ponytail with a thin tie she found laying on the floor, and started doing stretches to warm up for the exercise she had in mind.

Coco began her warm up by starting with some basic stretching exercises. She stood straight, her legs and shoulder width apart, and bent forward to touch her toes, feeling the stretch in her hamstrings and back.

Then she stood up straight and shifted her weight to the left side, bending her knee and grasping her left ankle with her left hand. She held this position for a few moments, taking several deep breaths, then switched sides, repeating the same motion with her right leg.

After the warm up, Coco began a series of strenuous exercises, her body moving in a rough yet powerful manner. Her every motion was controlled, her muscles straining yet her breathing steady.

Every movement was slightly fluid, every flex and extension of her limbs steaming to her focus and strength.

From pushups to squats, from jumping jack to weightlifting— using the bed as her weights— her body moved with slight protest, not used to the straining exercise.

She was sweating buckets and panting heavily at this point, having done the exercise for the past hour and didn't stop.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

However, her head perked up when a knock broke her concentration, she gently placed the bed down on the floor and walked towards the door.

She opened it, peeking her head out to see who it was, and seeing the person had taken her aback.
