Kokoro was a high school student with long, black, shining hair. Her best friend, Nezumi, was a cute, short girl with short brown hair. Both of them were students in Class 2-1, a class well-known for one thing—talking too much during school hours.
It wasn't that they didn't care about their studies. They just always had something to discuss, whether it was books, games, or whatever random thoughts popped into their heads. Their endless chatter often got them into trouble, earning them scoldings and even punishments from their teachers.
Despite that, neither of them seemed to learn their lesson.
One afternoon, during a short break between classes, Nezumi turned toward Kokoro, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Koko, what web novel are you reading these days?" she asked eagerly. "If you ask me, I'm reading Mushoku Tensei. I really love the writing style, the story, and the characters. You should give it a shot too—I'm sure you won't regret it."
Before Kokoro could respond, something unexpected happened. she had forgotten the novel's name.
Ankush's hands suddenly began to tremble.
'This… this is exactly how our day started!'
His heart pounded as he continued reading. The more he read, the more uneasy he felt.
The words on the screen were not just a story.
They were a reflection of reality.
Kokoro paused, her brows furrowing slightly as she tried to recall the name of the novel she had just started reading that morning. She had come across it through an advertisement and decided to give it a try.
But now, no matter how hard she concentrated, she couldn't seem to remember the title. It was as if the name had slipped right out of her mind.
She let out a small sigh before answering.
Kokoro: "Oh, mine… Let me think. The novel I'm reading… ummm, I can't remember its name for some reason. I'll check when I get home and tell you tomorrow. It's a new novel, by the way—the author has only released one chapter so far."
At that moment, Ankush's hands grew clammy, his palms slick with sweat.
'No… No way! This is my conversation with Mansh! What the hell is happening?!'
His heart pounded as he kept reading.
Meanwhile, Nezumi, unaware of the strange parallel unfolding elsewhere, simply smiled and nodded.
Nezumi: "Alright, make sure to check the name and tell me tomorrow. Don't forget!"
The conversation between Kokoro and Nezumi was cut short as the teacher entered the classroom and began the lecture. They exchanged a quick glance, silently agreeing to keep their voices down.
But old habits were hard to break.
Within minutes, they found themselves whispering again, unable to resist continuing their discussion.
Unfortunately for them, the teacher noticed. With an exasperated sigh, she stopped mid-lecture and turned to them, her gaze sharp.
"You two, outside. Now."
Neither Kokoro nor Nezumi dared to protest. They knew from experience that arguing would only make things worse. Sighing in defeat, they stood up and walked toward the door.
As an added punishment, the teacher made them stand facing the walls, away from each other, ensuring they wouldn't talk.
Meanwhile, Ankush's hands trembled as he continued reading.
'No… This is the exact same thing that happened to me and Mansh! What the hell is going on?!'
The eerie similarity made his heart pound, but he forced himself to read on.
—
When the class finally ended, Kokoro and Nezumi were allowed back inside. This time, they silently agreed not to talk in the next class, unwilling to risk further trouble.

Once school was over, the two girls walked home together, chatting about everything and nothing until they reached the point where they had to part ways.
Kokoro arrived home and pushed open the front door, stepping inside. She slipped off her shoes, greeted her family absentmindedly, and headed straight to her room.
The first thing she did was change out of her uniform.
Once she was comfortable, she turned on her computer and settled in to watch some K-dramas. Hours passed as she got lost in the stories.
After a while, she finally went downstairs for lunch. Once she was done eating, she returned to her room, determined to study for a bit.
But after some time, boredom crept in.
She reached for her phone, opened the novel she had started earlier, and began reading.
Not long after, fatigue washed over her. Her eyes grew heavy, and before she knew it, she had drifted off to sleep.
The Next Day(29/3/2014)
The next morning, as Kokoro was getting ready for school, a sudden realization struck her—she had completely forgotten to check the name of the novel!
Her movements froze for a moment, and panic quickly set in.
'How could I forget?! Nezumi's definitely going to ask me about it!'
Without wasting another second, she grabbed her phone from her bedside table and quickly searched for the novel.
After a moment, the title appeared on the screen.
"I'm Max Level Noob," she read aloud.
—
Meanwhile, Ankush's grip tightened on the phone as he processed what he had just read.
'This isn't exactly the same… It's close, but not identical.'
His heart rate began to slow slightly.
'Maybe it really is just a novel. A coincidence. That's all.'
Reassuring himself, he took a deep breath and continued reading.
—
Back in the story, Kokoro decided to take her phone with her to school that day. She slipped it into her bag, making sure it was secure.
Then, after picking up her school bag, she checked her stationery and books one last time, ensuring she had everything she needed for the day.
Just as she was about to leave, she glanced at her phone again.
'I should read a bit before heading out.'
She opened the novel to the chapter she had been reading the previous night and began scrolling through the words.
Nezumi had been eagerly waiting for Kokoro's recommendation. She knew that Kokoro always had a knack for picking the best novels and games, and her recommendations never disappointed.
—
Meanwhile, Ankush continued scrolling through the chapter. But as his eyes moved down the screen, a strange feeling crept over him.
'This… This is exactly how things happened between me and Mansh!'
His breath hitched. His fingers trembled slightly as he forced himself to keep reading.
—
Kokoro arrived at school and took her seat, setting her bag down beside her desk. She absentmindedly flipped through her books, waiting for class to start.
A short while later, Nezumi entered the classroom, her usual excitement visible in the way she practically bounced over to Kokoro. Without hesitation, she plopped down on the bench beside her.
Nezumi: "Hey, did you figure out the name of that novel?"
Kokoro gave a small nod, as if she had just remembered.
Kokoro: "Oh yeah! I checked! It's called *I'm Max Level Noob.*"
Nezumi's eyes lit up with curiosity.
Nezumi: "Which app does it upload on, and when?"
Before Nezumi could respond, the classroom door slid open, and the teacher walked in.
The students quickly straightened up, knowing that any mischief would lead to immediate punishment.
Kokoro, not wanting to get into trouble again, quickly ducked under her desk and whispered,
Kokoro: "It uploads daily on the WBNovel app at 7:30 AM. By the way, a new chapter is about to release in three minutes! I can't wait. I'm going to read it in class—don't tell the teacher, though, please."
Nezumi chuckled quietly but said nothing.
—
As the teacher began the lecture, Nezumi struggled to focus. Her curiosity gnawed at her.
'Just one peek… it won't hurt, right?'
Slowly, she slid her phone out of her bag and opened the WBNovel app. Her eyes darted between the screen and the teacher, making sure she wouldn't be noticed.
But luck wasn't on her side.
Just as she tapped on the latest chapter, a shadow loomed over her.
Nezumi barely had time to react before the teacher snatched the phone from her hands.
The classroom fell silent.
Her heart dropped.
The teacher's sharp voice cut through the tension.
"Nezumi, see me after class. Your phone is confiscated."
The teacher stormed toward Nezumi and snatched the phone from her hands.
Her stern voice echoed through the silent classroom.
Teacher: "If you want your phone back, tell your parents to come talk to me after class."
Nezumi sat there, frozen, unable to say a word. The weight of the situation sank in—she was in serious trouble.
—
As soon as the teacher left, two boys approached Nezumi, smirks plastered across their faces.
