"The train has stopped, let's go. Also, Tohka, at least try to conceal yourself." At this moment, the subway stopped again. Mary Jane and Gwen each grabbed Tohka and ran out, while the others had yet to react.
"Forget it, just don't do this next time. Oh, by the way, I have a pair of glasses here, I hope you can wear them. Or should I say, why are you just like Tony, not hiding at all?" As they ran out, Gwen suddenly pulled out a pair of glasses from her pocket and handed them to Tohka.
"I remember you don't have nearsightedness, so why do you need glasses?" Tohka asked with some confusion. She knew the common rule of not wearing other people's glasses, so she didn't immediately take them.
"It's fine, these are just plain lenses. As for why I have them, don't you think glasses make you look more refined?" Gwen, clearly aware of Tohka's situation, quickly explained.
"Alright then." Hearing this, Tohka put them on. Since they were plain lenses, it didn't really matter.
"Hmm, let's change your hairstyle a bit." After looking at Tohka, the two thought for a moment and adjusted her hairstyle. Well, it wasn't really a "new" style—they just let down the ponytail at the back of her head. Then they brushed it a bit and did some light makeup. And… okay, Tohka felt like she looked completely different from before. Honestly, sometimes when a girl changes her hairstyle, if you're not familiar with her—or not paying close attention—you really might not recognize her.
"Let's go. By the way, Tohka, it looks like we need to get you some makeup." Looking at the transformed Tohka with satisfaction, they had to admit that after their efforts, she no longer had a pure, innocent look—she had become much more alluring.
"Got it, let's go." Tohka looked at herself in the mirror speechlessly before following the two out of the restroom.
"Come, come, over here, over here." One had to admit, when women step into a mall, it's like they become a different person. All their attributes seem to get a major boost— But at least they still remembered their main goal. So, they dragged Tohka straight over to the cosmetics counter.
And then—this one, this one... oh, and this one too. By the time they left the first mall, Tohka was carrying bags upon bags of purchases. The others knew she wasn't short on money, so they went straight for the most expensive items. As for Tohka, she was swiping her credit card absentmindedly, completely clueless about how much she had spent due to the two overwhelming her. Whatever, Tony's there—if she runs out, she can just ask him for more.
"Next, we should..." Just as they were chatting, an explosion suddenly went off. Gwen and Mary Jane immediately crouched in fear, but Tohka remained calm, standing still. Ignoring the people lying down around her, she scanned her surroundings to see what was happening.
She quickly spotted a target: a huge, green-skinned lizard leaping across the buildings. It was obvious that the explosion just now had been caused by him. Then, a figure in a red-and-blue bodysuit flashed by—it was clearly Spider-Man. Apparently, he had been helping people affected by the explosion earlier, and was only now catching up.
"That guy seems to be in trouble. Hold these for me and be careful, I'm going up to check it out."
Seeing Spider-Man and the lizard monster entangled in battle, with debris constantly falling, Tohka quickly handed her bags to the two. Then, she pulled her armor out of her pocket, and in the blink of an eye, it was equipped on her body. A purple crystal-like figure appeared before the crowd. Without giving the two a chance to react, she accelerated and flew straight up.
"What kind of mess have you gotten into this time? Where did this big lizard come from?"
She flew right next to Spider-Man and blasted the lizard away with a shot. Then, she joked with Spider-Man beside her. Of course, she already knew his true identity.
"Why are you here?"
Seeing Tohka, Spider-Man was stunned for a moment—he had never expected to run into her here.
After all, they had just fought recently, and Tohka's house was quite far from here. Unless she had been nearby the whole time, she shouldn't have arrived so quickly.
"Mm, well... I was just shopping with Mary Jane and Gwen. We had just come out when I saw you guys fighting, so I rushed over. Watch out!!!"
Just as Tohka and Spider-Man were talking, the giant lizard pounced again.
But unfortunately for him, he crashed straight into the shield—Tohka saw his face get squished right before her eyes.
Honestly, just watching it made Tohka wince in sympathy.
And that guy's drool had splattered all over her protective barrier.
Disgusted, Tohka quickly deactivated the shield, letting the drool fall off.
Then, a few more energy blasts slammed into him again.
You had to admit—this guy's skin was seriously thick, even if the cannon blasts weren't particularly strong.
And yet, he acted like he was completely fine.
But judging from the marks on his skin, he definitely wasn't having a good time.
Still, with his incredible regenerative ability, his wounds were quickly healing.
"Be careful—don't kill him. That's Dr. Connors."
Spider-Man knew Tohka's strength—he seriously doubted the Lizard could survive one serious blow from her if she really went all out.
Even Abomination had bled under her sword—let alone the Lizard, who was clearly weaker.
But unlike Abomination, after turning into the Lizard, Dr. Connors was controlled by the bloodthirsty instincts of the creature, yet his mind remained intact—if not even more cunning and devious than before.
After just a few exchanges, he realized there was no way he could take on both of them at once.
So, he immediately jumped off the building and escaped into the sewers before they could react.
"Hmph, you think you can get away that easily? Jarvis, help me track his position."
Immediately, the two of them descended from the air and entered the sewers.
Looking at the sprawling network of tunnels, Tohka couldn't help but admire America's drainage system.
If this were in her own homeland, the sewers would be a joke by comparison.
But unfortunately, the Lizard was already gone.
"Jarvis, help me locate that guy."
With Jarvis on her side, Tohka wasn't worried—there was no way the lizard could get far.
"I'm sorry, miss. I'm unable to determine his location—he appears to have escaped."
But her confidence was quickly doused—Jarvis had found nothing.
"Nani?! What happened? How is that even possible?"
