Jae Won walked up to Vincent and held his hand watching his expression. He get more worried whenever Vincent doesn't show any facial expression. If his face looks worried, he will know something is wrong and tries to help and if his face looks all smiley he will know something good has happened but this expression doesnt give excitement or worrying so Jae Won had to ask.
"Is everything okay?" Jae Won asked, Vincent turned to look at Jae Won "nothing, it's just Akwasi, he said he will be coming to school this evening" he said as he went to sat next to the eating queen. They talked for a while and showed Jae Won around the school.
Two days has passed and Akwasi hasn't gone to meet Vincent after he came in, in fact he hasn't even come out at all. He has been talking to his mystery girl the moment he came while he unpacked and settling in. This kept him busy though what he was supposed to do was not that much.
After two days, now that he has settled in. Akwasi decided to go pay Vincent a visit and tell him everything about his mystery girl who is no longer a mystery.
He finally went to Vincent hostel and greeted the receptionist who always changes character when she sees Akwasi. She likes him and every time Akwasi gets there, she tries to act beautiful more than what she really is.
"Hi Cherry" this is the nickname she has given him and she makes sure she has been the only one to call him that and no one else.
"Hello, pretty, how are you doing? Akwasi asked while the receptionist moved from her position and walked towards him with a big smile all over her face.
"I'm good my love" she replied while going to touch his hand but Akwasi managed to avoid her touch. "Is my friend upstairs?" Akwasi asked and she nodded in agreement with her head.
He quickly walked away from the receptionist in a hurry to get away from the incoming parasite so that he could go and share his good news. "Uurm your friend brought a handsome kore…..aaah he is gone. This man doesn't make time for me at all" she said as she went back to her seat and tucked her hair back to her ears.
Akwasi finally got to Vincent's room and after knocking two times and with not response, he put in the code and opened the door only to be met with Jae Won walking on the back of Vincent in a massaging form while the music coming from the room was like an underground club.
"What in the name is happening he…what?" Akwasi asked but had to walked up to Jae Won to verify if the person he was looking at was really Jae Won.
After verifying the person really in front of him staring and smiling was really Jae Won, he glared at Vincent "really, you brought him to school too. Are you telling me now you can't live alone without him" he said.
Vincent gestured Jae Won to get down from him as he stood up from the floor as soon as Jae Won did and walked towards the couch and laid on it. He acted as if he was not the one being yelled at.
"Are you even listening to me?" Akwasi asked while Jae Won stood there like a cheating husband unable to move. "Jae Won, why did you follow him here? Tell me" he directed his question to Jae Won, the innocent bystander.
"It's my fault, I kept saying I'm going to miss him that's why he brought me just to spend a week and now it's been five days so…" Jae Won said hoping what he said could boring down Akwasi temper right now "that does make it more convincing" he said as he cut off Jae Won law excuse of his.
"Ooh I see, he was the reason why you didn't even pressure me to come early because you already had someone to talk to right. I thought something was off with you. You always make plans so we come together but this time you didn't even tell me you were coming till you got to school before you texted me….. you didn't call, you texted me" Akwasi said as he paced all over the room like an ignored lover but was still ignored.
"Do you love him?" Akwasi asked now getting a reply from Vincent "is it a bad thing?" He jokingly asked yet he m kind of meant it 'why did I thought of it' he thought. "what? No it's not a bad thing but.." he paused as he went to have some water to quench his thirst "never mind, it's not my business" he said as he went to sat next to Vincent.
"So why were you late?" Vincent asked now paying attention to him. Jae Won went ahead and sat in front of them as he crossed his leg over the other listening to their conversation while pretending to watch a movie.
"I've met someone" he said, Vincent quickly turned to him with surprised look with you should begin to explain yourself written on his face.
Akwasi understood the look on Vincent's face as he began to narrate how they met from beginning to the ending.
"So are you telling me that the one you've been chatting when you came to visit me was a stranger and now you've finally met her and she is finally your girlfriend" he said still not believing what Akwasi has said.
"Yes" Akwasi replied. "Hahaha, I don't believe you because you and long distance relationship don't meet. What happened to your first girlfriend when we were in the first year? You broke up with her when she decided to go to a different school" Vincent answered the question he asked in the first place.
"What about in sophomore year? You broke up with her because she got the opportunity to go and study abroad and now you are telling me you are in a relationship with a girl who is not even in Accra but in Kumasi. Oh and what about the third one you broke up with her because it was vacation and you couldn't meet only after we resume. Another city" he said as he began to play with Jae Won's hair running his hand through Jae Won soft silky hair.
"Dude, I'm serious. I went to Kumasi to meet her…oh see the videos I made with her" Akwasi said as he took out his phone and started showing Vincent pictures and videos they made the few days they spent together as evidence to back up what he was saying.
Jae Won too was curious as he pulled out his neck like a giraffe to take a look at the most interesting topic in the day.
"Wow, she is really beautiful" Jae Won said making Akwasi brighten up his girlfriend had been complimented by a man too. "I know right" He said as Vincent shook his head in disbelief. "Are you jealous?" Akwasi asked as he smirked "jealous of what?" Vincent replied.
"What were you doing?" Akwasi asked pointing to the floor where the two were busy chopping love on.
"Nothing, just letting Jae massage me a little" he said as he turned his gaze away from Jae Won's hair he was playing with.
"So what about you?" Akwasi asked, his stare fixated on Vincent who was unfazed at all by that look Akwasi was giving "what about me?" Vincent asked.
"I meant, when are you going to get a girlfriend?" He asked again "and I'm going to reply you for 1000th times when I meet the right person" he answered.
Akwasi became quiet for a while before he stood up from the couch and walked towards the television before he turned to face Vincent who hasn't react to any of Akwasi actions while he scratched at the back of his head "are you kidding me? What about Emelia? Isn't she a good person and besides she has chased you for years now. Come on give her a chance and see what the future holds" Akwasi said trying to convince the stone heart.
Someone on the other hand, stopped all his reactions just to listen in to this conversation that really mattered to him. In fact anything that has to do with Vincent has to do with him also. So Jae Won paid his attention to Vincent making sure nothing gets his attention even the favorite cartoon of his that was playing at the moment didn't seem to capture his attention. He only wants to listen to Vincent's reply.
Vincent laughed a villian as he plan his devil ways together the protagonist out of his way "No, I'm not ever going to accept her and beside I like her as a sister and nothing more" Vincent replied.
"This boy is really frustrating. Just because of that ex of yours you've decided not to date again. Tell me, are you impotent?" Akwasi asked as he was looking for a safe place to hide in case the need arise.
Vincent gave him a glare that could kill him but didn't respond "because this behavior of yours is weird. This was not even a serious heartbreak like that so it can't prevent you from getting a new girlfriend. If I was the one I would have gotten like four girlfriends by now" Akwasi said as he went a little backwards.
Akwasi turned to look at Jae Won and smiled and Jae Won knew it's over. The interrogation is now his turn.
"Jae Won, how many girlfriends have you taken so far?" He asked. Jae Won smiled and turn to look at Vincent "urrrm, four I th…think" Jae Won replied.
"See, you are two years younger than him and he had had four girlfriends. You better get yourself a girl…..pang" that's the sound of the door slamming onto their face interrupting Akwasi.
Jae Won, "….."
Akwasi, "….."
"Did I go too far?" Akwasi asked while Jae Won nodded "yes too far" he said.
