Why does everybody keeps asking him if something good had happened? Jae Won was glowing from head to toe as though he was blanketed by the most beautiful ornaments in the world's history. But he was just having a moment with someone he liked.
Charles, "..." still waiting for an answer but Jae Won was on cloud nine as though his feet was not on planet earth. "Do I have to blown a horn to get an answer?" Charles asked as he snapped his fingers.
"Is it that obvious I am in a good moo.." Jae Won couldn't complete his sentence and there was a reply "yes, you are practically glowing form head to toe. What happened?" Charles curiosity got the best of him.
Before Jae Won could answer he had a bad feeling about it which made his mind wonder 'what if Vincent had agreed to be his boyfriend or they've done the deed even before the main problem'.
But his thought wandered back to him when Jae Won spoke "something good did happened but I'm going to wait till I let it out".
Charles, "….."
It seemed his fears were going to happen. What in the name happened just a few days ago to make Jae Won bright like a star.
He watched Jae Won threw himself on the couch as though he didn't care he might get hurt and his face was all smiley and happier.
"This good news really made your day" Charles said. Jae Won suddenly remembered about his school and decided to share that news instead of the real one.
"I'm about to go a photography school and I'm happy" Jae Won said cutting off Charles's thought when he went to sat down on his seat.
"Really? Then that's good news to make you shine like this" Charles said. It seemed his worry were about to disappear as he thought that was the good news Jae Won glowed about. But before he could celebrate his happiness was cut short.
"No, that was the second good news but the first one is a secret and I will share it later". Charles chest tightened as his breath hitched unable to breathe probably.
He picked up the glass of water that was on his desk and drank all in one go. "You could have shared this in a text. Why did you come all the way here just to share one good news and leave the rest?" Charles said, his voice sounded irritated but he tried to concealed it without Jae Won catching on.
"Hmmm, that's true. I didn't think of it. Besides I was bored so I came here to have fun" he said.
Charles smiled a little even though he wasn't fully satisfied with his response but he could bare with it. It at least calmed him down a little.
"But I'm busy at the moment so we can have fun. I hope it's okay?" Charles asked barely containing his happiness and worry.
"No problem. Just being here is fun enough than being in a n empty big mansion" he said as he laid down on the couch and took his phone out of his pocket and began scrolling through his phone.
Charles who kept watching him suddenly had an idea to make fun of Vincent. So he took out his phone and took a picture of Jae Won lying on the couch with his shirt riding up to reveal a bare skin of his abdomen which shows a light six packs and immediately pressed send.
Within a second, the chat interface with Vincent with the bubbling dots showing Vincent was typing but it stopped and started again.
After waiting for a whole minute without a reply, Charles was about to give up when his phone rang. "I'm going out to receive this call. It's important" Charles said as he saw who was calling. Jae Won nodded his head and went back to scrolling on his phone.
Charles was finally outside his office and walked down the hall as he received the call but before he could exchange hello he was bombarded with questions he had to pause for it to end.
"What do you think you are doing?"
"Why is Jae with you?"
"Why is his abdomen revealing?"
"Are you planning to do something to him?"
This last sentence made Charles chuckled unknowingly making Vincent's words got stuck in his throat which he apologized for but not that he was really sorry but as courtesy.
"Do something to him? Oh yes I do want to do something to him like kissing, cuddling and even sex but, but I had to wait for his permission to do that. I mean him lying down on the couch was so tantalizing I almost couldn't contain myself so i decided to share his cuteness with you"
"I mean if you see how cute he is maybe you will help me win him over. That's why I sent you the picture. Gosh I want to kiss him till he gasp for air. Sorry, soon to be brother in law but I can't help myself"
While Charles was spewing nonsense so Vincent thought, he kept clenching and unclenching his fist till his fist decided to go on break but it clenched again till his knuckles turned white when Charles said he wanted to kiss Jae Won till he gasp for air.
That broke the last straw within him as he almost blurted out his real feelings in front of his rival.
"He is mi….he is…" but he couldn't complete his sentence. "He is what?" Charles asked waiting to hear the last part of his sentence but it never came so he decided to turn the boat to a different direction.
"How is our wife?" Charles asked and finally got words out of Vincent. "Our wife? Who is that?".
Charles laughed and explained his sentence "I meant how is your girlfriend? I hope you are taking good care of her" he said only for him to say his goodbyes and hung up on Vincent.
Vincent barely hold on to his last patience he had as he stormed out of the hallway then out of the company to have some fresh air. His mind went back to the morning where he was kissing Jae Won and couldn't get enough of him.
As he sat in the office, he was just praying the time to move faster and so he could go get his dinner but it seemed it wasn't going to happen. This made his heart ache and it felt so unbearable he decided to come to term with his feelings.
But first he had to talk to his mother and then Emelia. He knew he made a mistake by accepting Emelia's feeling which he would accept any consequences.
He took out his phone and texted his mum,
Vincent, "mum, I need to talk to you"
Within a few seconds Mrs Gladys replied
Mum, "sure baby, I hope everything is okay? *worry emoji"
Vincent, "yes, I hope so"
Mum, "okay dear. Talk in the evening "
Vincent, "see you in the evening"
Charles sighed so heavily, the air came back and gave him a glare. He went back to the office while his mind was somewhere else. He did managed to separate his work from personal without any mistakes.
Back at the hospital, Charles came back from the call after a long time. "Who was it? You kept long" Jae Won asked but his focus was still on his phone.
Charles force out a smile and answered "it was one of my patients guardian. They called to…urrm" but his excuse got lost in his mind.
"*laugh… don't worry. You don't have to answer, it's your personal space and work for that matter" Jae Won said when he saw Charles fumbled with his words.
Jae Won honestly thought he couldn't talk because of doctor patients confidentiality so he didn't want to push it further.
"What do you think of us going on a movie date?" Charles asked. Even though Charles was making fun of Vincent, but deep down he was scared. What if Jae Won and Vincent get together?
He wouldn't like it but he can't have a say in it. So he had to work harder if he wants to have Jae Won by his side. And he has to start somewhere which was now. And then, the good news Jae Won skipped might be something that could hurt him.
"Yes, we can go on a movie date. Oh there is this movie that had just come out, I wanted to watch it with Vincent but since you are willing to I can do that with you".
Charles, "....."
'Do that with me? Is he not willing to go with me in the first place'
"What do you me….." a ringing notification interrupted him. The moment he saw the name he started packing some few documents "emergency, I will come back later" he said as he run out of his office.
Jae Won stared at the door and later went back to scrolling on his phone.
After a while he received a message from Vincent.
Vincent, "where are you?"
Jae Won, "I'm with Charles"
Vincent, "*angry face, angry face angry face"
Jae Won, "...…"
