"He's not here."
Disappointment rolled along with Alexis's words at Keelion's absence in the room. If there was any trace of him, it was the smell of his scent all over the room. The only scent that she could smell.
Her gaze shifted to the bed and she walked over to it. She grabbed the jacket Keelion had tossed on it and moved to the couch to plop into it.
"It smells good." She inhaled the strong scent lingering on it, eyes falling shut. "So so good."
Sereia got onto the couch and curled up right next to her.She asked, "Do you feel okay?"
"Why do you ask?"
"You know that I can feel what you feel. I'm telling you you have nothing to feel guilty about. That jerk deserved it. Keelion is our mate, there is no way he would have let him off the hook."
Alexis flickered her eyes. "It isn't exactly about guilt."
"Then what is it?"
"You heard Damian. I didn't want to be the cause of someone's misery, not when I know what misery feels like."
