"Did he never come?"
Alexis forced herself up the bed, her palm coming to rest against her forehead.
"He definitely did. You fell asleep on the sofa, not on his bed," Reia, who was seated on the sofa, said, grabbing her attention.
Alexis glanced beside her on the bed, wondering if he slept next to her. He probably did. Why didn't he wake her up at least?
Her stomach rumbled and she groaned, putting her feet on the floor.
"I'm so hungry."
"Shouldn't we head back? Those two men will suspect you if you start returning to the room late. I mean, they surely would wonder where you'd been."
Alexis peeked at the clock. It was still five in the morning. That was early. Neither Augustus nor Lyndon should be awake by now.
She hurried to the door with Sereia who followed suit and slipped her feet into her slippers, making her way out of the room and quietly closing the door behind her.
