Zarah stuck out her tongue. "Arrogant."
Neither she nor Zainah had a proper frame of reference for how quickly someone should grow stronger. They had no one else to compare Sett to. And Zarah wasn't a useful comparison either—at least Zainah thought Zarah didn't match up to her image of a good Tomb Raider.
But both sisters could feel it.
Sett was advancing at a tremendous pace. And he was becoming more urgent.
Sett tightened his grip around Zainah. Then, he looked towards an opened window where there was barely any fire.
"Zarah, jump to that window. I'll follow with Zainah."
Zarah hesitated, staring at the flames licking the palace walls, then gulped and nodded. Even if she landed on fire, she wouldn't be hurt. She had tested herself against it before. Fire didn't burn her anymore.
She crouched—then leaped.
Too much strength. She had no control. The window blurred past, and a stone wall rushed toward her face.
