Egrith watched the scene from a distance, hidden among the crowd. The palace fire was being doused by the commoners, all of them working in harmony. Many commoners even looked happy that the Royalty and their army had vanished.
After all, a lack of the government meant no taxes.
Egrith's face was covered in a hood, his eyes gleaming under the shadows.
He could not find the figures of Sett, Zainah, or Zarah inside the palace anymore. They had long scooted from the scene—as any master tactician would. But what was weirder, however, was the fact that not a single corpse remained inside the palace.
Not the corpse of the Tier 2 guards, not the corpse of the Pharaoh or the First Prince. Those corpses had also vanished.
Is that also due to another Axiom ability? Egrith wondered, eyes flickering with killing intent. What kind of ability?
