After I swinging the door open I stopped and looked around the small office and saw Lizzy standing and Bex sitting behind his desk with is one elbow propped up on the chair and a shocked expression upon see me making a surprised visit.
" What is happening here?" I asked in a curious tone. I walked in the room and swung the door back leaving it a jar.
At the same time Bex slowly stood up from his chair to his full height while I walked up to stand next to Lizzy who had a ghost pale expression.
"So is anybody going to tell me what is going on here?" I said in a voice stern.
" Young Miss, it is nothing at all. I was just asking Elizabeth here why she didn't informed me about you being awake. That is all." Bex smiled a empty smile that didn't reach his eyes.
I pulled a bored expression and said " I told her not to tell anyone about me walking up. Why? did she not tell you that."
"No that's not it, she did but I want to know the reason behind it. For I am the head butler for the Count and I must maintain a strict order in the Count's house." His said, voice blooming with pride.
'I hate this guy. I mean I hated him before but now. Thinking back on all the things he used to do to me making me think that he loved me and cared for me and now living my life again and seeing that it was all a lie and he was just wearing a mask to hind his monster. Oh well, this makes it easier for me to kill him.' I thought as my eyes are still on him. Bex looked away from my gaze when he realise that his showing his true self.
"Yes, Bex you're right. An employee must inform the head butler on the things that are happening in the Count's house hold for they must follow the house rule. Although Lizzy here doesn't have to follow those rules for she is not under the employment of the Count. She under mine. So you have no right to question my stuff member on things that are non of your business. She does have to give you a reason for anything." I finished off in a cold voice.
" Now, if you are finish I'm taking Lizzy we are packing and this is a long journey " I said and as I was about to turn and leave Bex voice rang out, but it was in a different tone. 'This tone reminded me of a time in my old life when Bex came to see me, after I asked for his help to runaway from him, and what did he said to me in the forest. Yes. " Why will I help such a useless rat like you." Those words still echo in my soul'
" You think runaway here will change anything. You will come back and you will regret the words you spoke to the Count and we will see if the Count will forgive you or not." He said in sinister voice.
I turned back slowly and pinned him with a board expression "If you say so." And turned and left the room. Lizzy followed behind me as we walked though the kitchen area. Everyone eyes were on us but I didn't care I kept walking up the stairs through the main hall up the stairs again to my room. I open the door and allowed Lizzy to step in first. She was shocked for maids never walk in front of the masters.
"Elizabeth are you coming in or what?" I said in a clipped tone. She flinched and quickly walked in the room and I closed the door.
I walked to the bed and sat at the end of the bed and breathed a sigh of relief after facing Bex for the first time. I was sad that all of the amazing memories I had with him meant nothing and also what he did to me and my mother that is just unforgivable. Sad as I am Bex still robbed me of a happy life with my mother and he must pay. I look up to see Lizzy standing in the centre of the room hands to side and head bowed.
" Don't do that Lizzy" I said in a sympathetic voice. She looks up at me through her blonde lashes " I'm not Bex and I will never be him. So stop that and help me gather my things we need to be leaving in the morning."
" But, sir Bex what he said to you do you think that it will…"Lizzy said in a small voice.
'For a women who is seven years older than me she sure get scared a lot' I thought as I sighed. I stood up from the bed and walked to Lizzy and touched her shoulder softly and smiled up at her " What Bex said, he said it out of fear. He is afraid that we will live happy lives without him, his afraid that we will thrive and make our dreams come true and also afraid of been left here in this old cold house. That's all so don't mind what that old butt thinks we have our own life's to live now." Lizzy look at me in shock and confusion. " But I thought you cared what sir Bex _"
"I don't care what his says or what he means and I know for sure he doesn't care about me. " I said as I cut her off. " since the moment I woke up he has not asked how I felt, he just told me 'I looked well' in the dinner hall. Never asked. Do you think that is a person that shows love. No, so don't worry about a man who will never be part of our live again. Now did you speak to sir Brandon yet."
Lizzy peak up " No, but Jack did and he will be ready for the journey in the morning and I also asked the chef to cook up some meals for us. It's for two weeks since I don't know how long we will be on the road…so Miss where are we going?"
" Ravencrest" I said in a smile
" WHAT!NO MAN LAND!" Lizzy jumped back from me "You can't the journey is far and dangerous and also the monsters!"
"Yes I know but I know a secret way there."
