Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 Worried Roman

Roman rushed through the streets, Julie cradled carefully in his arms. The cool evening air whipped through her hair as he hastened toward the sleek black car waiting by the curb. The guards, stationed along the sidewalk, watched in stunned silence as Roman approached. Their mouths hung agape, eyes wide with surprise.

Athor, standing at attention behind Roman, couldn't help but smile. He had never seen his boss display such tenderness before. Roman's usual demeanor was one of stern authority, but in this moment, he seemed almost... gentle.

The driver, quick to react, swung open the car door, revealing the luxurious interior. Roman slid inside, Julie still secure in his arms, and settled onto the soft leather seat. The driver's eyes met Roman's in the rearview mirror, a hint of curiosity flickering across his face.

As the car pulled away from the curb, Roman swiftly dialed a number on his phone. The ringing seemed to stretch on forever before a deep voice answered.

"Harry, come to my house," Roman instructed, his tone firm but laced with a hint of urgency.

There was a pause on the other end of the line before Harry responded, "Excuse me?" His voice was tinged with surprise.

Roman's expression turned stern. "I need you to come to my house, Harry. Now."

Harry's hesitation was palpable. "Okay, which house?" he asked finally.

Roman's response was immediate. "The one in the north. And don't forget to bring your medical box."

As soon as the call ended, Roman signaled the driver to step on it. The car surged forward, weaving through the crowded streets with ease.

Harry's voice echoed in his mind, laced with concern. "Is someone sick, or is it his ulcer again?" Roman's frown deepened. He hoped it wasn't something more serious.

Throughout the journey, Roman held Julie close, her head nestled against his chest. He could feel her heartbeat, slow and steady, and willed his own to match its rhythm. The soft rise and fall of her chest was a soothing balm to his frazzled nerves.

As they arrived at the house, Roman swiftly exited the car, Julie still cradled in his arms. He strode upstairs, forgetting that her room was downstairs, separate from his. The door to his bedroom swung open, and he stepped inside, kicking it shut behind him.

Roman's hand instinctively shifted to support Julie's back, his fingers brushing against her buttocks. He felt a spark of electricity at the touch, but quickly suppressed it. Now was not the time.

Carefully, Roman laid Julie on the magnificent king-size bed at the center of the room. The bedroom was a masterpiece of luxury and elegance, with every detail meticulously crafted to exude refinement. Yet, despite the opulent surroundings, the room was shrouded in mystery, with every wall, piece of furniture, and accessory cloaked in an unsettling black.

Roman's eyes lingered on Julie's peaceful form before he turned to leave the room. He descended the stairs, his footsteps echoing through the silence, and waited for Harry's arrival.

'Ah most she fall into the hand of bad guys,' Roman said but merely the memory of it make his blood boiled.

"What is it," Roman said as he raised his head that is hung low and looked at the Athor with dangerous eyes.

"Sir they are being taken to the dungeon," Athor informed.

"Hmm," Roman hummed without saying anything as he keep looking at the unknown.

The minutes ticked by which seems forever for Roman, and soon as Harry land his foot on the entrance Roman head snapped towards him.

Roman rose from the couch, his movements fluid and deliberate, and gestured for Harry to follow him upstairs.

Harry's eyes widened as he took in the sight of Julie on the bed, tucked under the blanket.

"I'm straight, I'm seeing right – a woman on his bed, tucked under his blanket," Harry exclaimed, his voice laced with incredulity. He stood frozen, wiping his eyes as if to clear his vision.

Roman's voice cut through the silence, low and even. "Why are you standing there? Come forward, she needs a doctor."

Harry's gaze snapped to Roman, his eyes searching for answers. "Doctor, oh okay," he muttered, his mind racing to process the scene before him.

As Harry approached the bed, Roman's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in anticipation. "What happened to her? Wait, isn't she the woman you got involved in an accident with?" Harry asked, his voice tinged with accusation.

Roman's expression darkened, his eyes flashing with irritation. "What you're thinking – that I've done something to her and didn't take care of her well?"

Harry's eyes locked onto Roman's, his gaze unwavering. "Yeah, it's possible. Being a woman-hater, of course, it's one hundred percent possible."

Roman's voice thundered through the room, his patience worn thin. "Man, treat her!"

Roman is more than nervous and that why he thundered he wan to know whether the girl is alright.

Harry's hands moved swiftly, his fingers dancing across Julie's wrist as he took her pulse. Roman's eyes never left Harry's face, his gaze burning with intensity.

As Harry reached for the blanket, Roman's hand shot out, grasping his wrist. "What?" Harry asked, his brow furrowed in confusion.

Roman's voice was low, his tone deadly serious. "What are you going to do?"

Harry's eyes searched Roman's face, seeking answers. "I'm a doctor, you forget? I have to check her, or isn't that what you called me here for?"

Roman's grip on Harry's wrist tightened, his knuckles white with tension. "Must you lift the blanket?"

Harry's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. "Yes, I must."

Roman's expression turned calculating, his eyes glinting with a hint of desperation. "I can't let you take a look underneath. Maybe you should go out and give me the stethoscope. I'll listen to her heartbeat, and after that, you can come in."

Harry's eyes snapped with understanding, his mind piecing together the puzzle. "Bro, why are you so guarded toward the lady like this? Tell me," he asked, his voice laced with concern.

Roman's expression turned glacial, his eyes flashing with warning. "What are you doing?" he asked, his voice low and menacing.

Harry's hand dropped, his eyes locked onto Roman's. "Trying to tell you that we're friends, and she's my patient, and I have to check her heart."

Roman's gaze never wavered, his eyes burning with intensity. "Come on, Roman, it's fine. I won't lower the blanket. Please let go of my hand."

Roman's grip relaxed, his hand dropping away from Harry's wrist. But as Harry reached for the blanket, Roman's eyes snapped with warning, his voice low and deadly. "I'm not fooling. I know what you're trying to do."

Harry's hand hesitated, his eyes locked onto Roman's. And in that moment, something shifted, the air thickening with tension.

With a swift motion, Harry lifted the blanket, and his eyes widened in shock. "Oh my, what have you done to the lady, Roman?" he exclaimed, his voice laced with horror.

Roman's expression turned icy, his eyes flashing with anger. "Have you become so desperately in need of a woman that you'll do this to her?" Harry asked with a raised brow looking at Roman in disbelief.

"What have I done?" Roman asked. "You are asking what you have done, I asked you to take care of the lady well, not to harm her in bed. And wait, when did you even start sleeping around, huh?" Harry's said as if he is scolding his younger brother but his words earned him a chuckle from Roman.

But in a split second, everything died down, leaving a chilling aura surrounding Roman. He walked close to the bed and sat down.

"Whatever happened isn't your concern. All I called you here to do is check her and get your ass out of my house," Roman said, looking at Harry with an unreadable expression.

Just hearing Roman's voice, Harry knew he had touched his sour spot, and he shot his eyes closed as he winced. "What have I done? Oh, me and my mouth," Harry said, as he checked Julie without uttering another word.

"Her breath is stable now, and nothing is wrong. All she needs to do is rest for a complete week, as her body is too fragile right now, and take her medicine. I will give her an injection right now, let her sleep, and by tomorrow she will be alright," Harry said, as he fished out the injection and injected it into her.

"Thanks," Roman said, and rose to accompany him out of the room. But just as he got up, he moved close to Julie and tucked her in well, while Harry watched from the side with a dropped mouth.
