"I'm sorry," Harry said as they descended the stairs. "You don't have to," Roman said, walking with his head straight, looking ahead. "Everyone who sees her like this in my bed will think that way, so it's nothing. All I hope is you'll keep it in your stomach without spilling it."
Harry gave a sheepish smile to Roman, who didn't even turn his head. Curiosity getting the better of him, Harry asked hesitantly, "What happened to her?"
"Hmm," Harry hummed as he didn't get an answer from Roman after a complete minute. Roman finally spoke up as he descended the last stairs. "Some people tried to rep her."
Hearing him, Harry's mouth hung open in shock and surprise, as he never imagined such a thing. "What?" Harry said, still shocked. Roman replied simply, "You heard me."
"How...how could this happen? One of the guards, no...of course not," Harry said, guessing things on his own accord while Roman watched him from the side of his eyes.
Roman's expression remained neutral. "Nothing much. You should be on your way. She just snuck out without informing anyone at night." He gestured to one of the guards to come with his hand. "Yes, sir," the guard said, bowing deeply.
"Harry, I'll see you later," Roman said and gestured to the guard to follow him to the backyard of the mansion. As they walked, Roman asked, "Where is Malone?"
The guard replied, "He's at the front of the mansion, sir." Roman ordered, "Call him." The guard quickly disappeared to summon Malone.
Malone arrived, bowing his head with respect toward his boss. "You called me, sir?" he asked, questioning why the boss would call him at this time.
Roman declared, "From now on, you're not to take care of anything or go anywhere. Just sit at home and babysit from outside, without getting near the person. Just watch her when I'm not home."
Malone and the other guard were baffled, and they blinked in surprise. Roman continued, "You have to inform me about anything the person does every day." He turned around, looking at Malone with an expressionless face.
"Clear," Roman said, looking at Malone, who was greatly surprised by what he had heard. "Yes, sir," Malone replied, still looking surprised by his new assignment - from being a great fighter to a babysitter. But he didn't ask questions and continued listening.
Roman said, "I'll give you the details tomorrow, but first, the young woman you saw today is the one you're to babysit." Roman dismissed Malone and turned to the guard.
"Hope those people now are black and blue," Roman asked the other guard, his tone laced with a hint of danger. "Yes, sir, they won't be able to distinguish night from day," the guard replied, bowing deeply. Roman nodded, seeming to accept the guard's words, before sending him away.
As the guard departed, Roman sat alone on the ground, taking a deep breath. He slowly lay back, resting on his elbows, and closed his eyes. But in a fleeting moment, his eyes snapped open, and he gazed up at the sky. In silence, Roman watched the stars twinkling above, their brightness mesmerizing.
Usually, Roman was someone who enjoyed his solitude, reveling in the quiet moments to himself.
He loved his time alone, concentrating on a task without distraction. Today was a perfect day for that, especially since there was someone occupying his bed – someone he hadn't planned on returning to.
As the time crept closer to midnight, Roman's eyes began to droop, the gentle breeze on the grounds of his mansion lulling him into a peaceful slumber.
But just as he drifted off, he saw her again – her eyes filled with tears of betrayal as she looked at him.
Roman's eyes snapped open, sweating and he took a deep breath to calm his racing mind.
He couldn't taken it not another dream of her that will drain him.
As he breathed in, he continued to gaze up at the sky, unable to fall asleep. He turned onto his stomach, placing his hands on the ground, and slowly raised his body up, supporting himself on his toes and hands.
He began to do push-ups, his movements steady and controlled. "Hm, hm, hm," he hummed, his breathing rhythmic, as he continued the exercise until exhaustion took over.
Finally, Roman collapsed onto his stomach, his body spent. It wasn't long before he fell into a deep slumber, the sound of birds chirping in the garden was like alarm clock.
As the morning light crept in, Roman slowly opened his eyes, a soft smile spreading across his face as he watched the birds flit about in the trees.
Without startling the birds, Roman quietly stretched, rising from his makeshift bed on the grass.
He stood up, his long legs unfolding, and walked toward the mansion entrance. As he stepped inside, he disappeared from view, leaving the peaceful morning scene behind.
Meanwhile, in Roman's bedroom, Julie was already awake, quietly staring at the ceiling above her. Though she acknowledged the room wasn't hers, she felt too weak to get up. Memories of the previous night's events and Roman's sudden appearance flooded her mind, making her feel a sense of unease.
"Hmm, the bed is so relaxing," Julie whispered to herself, trying to distract herself from her thoughts. "Who knows where he bought these soft pillows and the mattress " Her words trailed off as she heard footsteps stopping outside the door. She quickly pulled the blanket up to her head, pretending to be not there at all.
Roman turned the knob and walked into his room, seemingly unaware of Julie's presence. Since he wasn't going to work and had already completed his morning exercise routine the night before, he strolled toward the bed, ready to rest.
Forgetting that he had laid someone on the bed the night before, Roman climbed onto the bed and lay down on his back, humming in appreciation of its softness. He dragged the pillow beside him, which, unbeknownst to him, was actually Julie.
As Roman cuddled with what he thought was a pillow, Julie's eyes widened in shock. She didn't dare make a sound, fearing a confrontation with Roman, especially after what he had said the day before. Without realizing it, Roman wrapped his arms around Julie's waist, pulling her close as he rested.
"It has been long, man, without resting like this," Roman said to no one but himself.
While inside the blanket, Julie frowned. "Huh, it has been long without resting, what a night owl," Julie thought to herself, staying stiff as it was awkward to be in someone's arms. "A man's arm, hell," Julie thought, breathing slowly so Roman wouldn't realize he was actually cuddling a person, not a pillow.
After some time, Roman and Julie slowly fell asleep in each other's arms. Roman was the first to wake up after an hour. Without noticing the strand of Julie's hair that had sprawled out of the blanket, he retreated from the bed and headed straight to the shower.
After bathing, Roman walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. Just as he took a few steps, his eyes fell on something black on the bed, which made him raise a brow.
