Dressed in his signature green jumpsuit, Guy appeared before Tsunade in a flash, carrying the unconscious Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Shisui under his arms.
"Hokage-sama, mission accomplished. But their condition doesn't look too good."
Two slugs quickly attached themselves to the unconscious Uchihas, beginning the healing process.
Tsunade opened her eyes and stood up. "It's time for me, as Hokage, to step in."
"Wait…" A voice interrupted her. Looking over, Tsunade saw Yakushi Nonō gazing at Might Guy.
"Might Guy, do you remember self-restraint?" she asked, handing him a mission scroll from the Foundation.
Nonō turned to Tsunade. "Apologies, Tsunade-sama. Before departing, Danzo-sama instructed that if we encounter an enemy we cannot defeat, this mission should be entrusted to Might Guy."
"Guy…" Kakashi, standing nearby, seemed to have realized something, his expression growing heavier.
Taking the scroll, Might Guy flashed his signature grin, giving Kakashi a thumbs-up.
"This is youth, Kakashi. I've been looking forward to my youth burning at its peak!" With that, he performed a swift Leaf Whirlwind right on the spot, his energy surging.
A shadow appeared behind the fired-up Might Guy, a hand resting on his shoulder.
"Guy, it's not time for your youth to bloom just yet. For now, let us old folks handle it."
"Danzo-sama."
Everyone turned, their faces shifting from shock to joy.
"Apologies, I was delayed by some matters." Danzo gazed at the devastated Konoha before him. "But it seems you've managed well. Honestly, I've long thought about tearing Konoha down and rebuilding it."
"You damn old geezer, quit talking nonsense!" Tsunade's initial joy instantly turned into irritation.
"Enough, Tsunade. The others still need your healing. If I fail, then Guy can take over. Your medical skills are more crucial now."
With those words, Danzo's figure vanished.
...
Pursuing Pain suddenly halted, his eyes locking onto the figure blocking his path.
"Danzo? Perfect, I can use you to obtain more intel." Without hesitation, he lunged forward.
"I was thinking the same thing." Danzo stared directly into the Rinnegan.
Having studied eyes of a similar caliber, he couldn't help but doubt how Uchiha Madara had awakened this power. If Madara had truly unlocked these eyes, then even in his twilight years, he should have been invincible.
And yet, he died.
Possessing the power to reshape yin and yang, to create from nothing, yet ultimately succumbing to old age—it sounded like a cruel joke.
Black markings began spreading across Danzo's face as he slammed his hands onto the ground.
Sage Art: Birth of the World of Trees
The very ground of Konoha trembled as countless trees erupted from below, spreading in all directions.
Even the crater at the village's center wasn't spared, as the trees surged forth, turning what had been reduced to rubble into a vast forest. All traces of battle were buried beneath the rapidly growing landscape, seamlessly blending into the surrounding environment.
Yet, the forest was unnerving. It twisted and expanded wildly, as if alive, an overwhelming force of nature.
"This…" Terumi Mei stared in shock at the transformed battlefield.
The voice in her mind informed her of Danzo's arrival, and with it, a renewed sense of hope.
A technique of this scale—was this really the work of a human? So this was Wood Release, the legendary power of the God of Shinobi?
Tsunade, too, was stunned. Though proud, she couldn't help but grit her teeth—this was, after all, the treasured Wood Release of the Senju Clan.
Meanwhile, Jiraiya could clearly sense the immense concentration of natural energy within the forest. There was no doubt—Danzo had integrated Sage Mode into his technique.
Deep within the dense foliage, Pain experienced it firsthand. Though the Rinnegan could absorb chakra, it was ineffective against natural energy.
Worse still, the excess natural energy distorted his sensory abilities, making it difficult to track Danzo's movements.
Pain began to levitate just as a colossal wooden humanoid rose from behind him. Its massive hands closed in from both sides, attempting to crush him.
Shinra Tensei
A powerful repelling force erupted outward, yet instead of shattering the wooden hands, it created a momentary stalemate.
The towering wooden entity, as if embracing an invisible sphere, continued pressing inward, exerting greater force.
"Creak… Creak…"
Pain, hands raised in defiance, furrowed his brows. His once unstoppable repelling force had failed to obliterate the wooden giant.
"Impressive. So, you're their trump card?"
Wrapped around the wooden construct's arms was a massive wooden dragon, its eyes locked onto Pain like a venomous serpent preparing to strike.
Summoning Jutsu
From within a billowing cloud of smoke, two colossal arms emerged, grasping the wooden giant's limbs.
At the same time, a terrifying glow radiated from its mouth.
Boom!
A sphere of energy, reminiscent of a Tailed Beast Bomb, obliterated the wooden giant's head in an instant.
"What is that monster?!" Tsunade gasped in shock.
It loomed even taller than the wooden giant, an eerie, mummified husk wrapped in chains—like a cursed prisoner from an ancient era.
The brief hope that had sparked in the hearts of Konoha's defenders was swiftly replaced by dread.
Pain had not yet unleashed his full power.
A guttural roar erupted from the creature as the wooden dragon coiled around its neck was torn into pieces. The Gedo Statue threw back its head and bellowed.
The sound waves rippled through the forest, an unnatural, oppressive force that sent chills down the spine of everyone present. Even those simply laying eyes on the monster felt their instincts screaming in fear, as if an ancient power was suppressing their very blood.
