Chapter 92 - Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [92]

These dark and sinister xenos wield technology far beyond what humans can even imagine!

When Damz first arrived in Commorragh, he had heard that these dark Eldar, purely for entertainment, had captured a Tyrant from the Behemoth swarm and another Tyrant from the Kraken swarm. Then, they somehow hybridized the two, creating a new hive tyrant with features from both swarms, yet disconnected from the hive mind.

This new type of Tyrant was then thrown into the arena as part of their entertainment.

It's said that these Haemonculi possess the true art of resurrection. Even if only a single drop of your blood remains, they can use some ancient technology from the Eldar Empire to bring you back to life.

During this trip to Commorragh, Damz had finally witnessed the power of a new type of genetically modified warrior, one that could rival the Astartes. Truly impressive!

With technology this advanced, these dark Eldar should theoretically be capable of repairing the Golden Throne. If he could secretly accomplish this mission, it would mean saving the entire Imperium.

Since he was unfamiliar with this place, he hadn't yet chosen a target and was still hesitating about which Haemonculus to hire to take to the Imperium's holy capital, Terra.

Now, however, the Inquisitor had found his goal. The master who created these powerful frost warriors could surely meet his requirements and repair the Emperor's Golden Throne.

The genetic engineering techniques this individual possessed left him in awe! Instead of randomly hiring an unknown Haemonculus, it would be better to try working with this one. At least he had personally witnessed their skill, which gave him a sense of confidence. It was decided—this was the one.

Damz began forming a detailed plan in his mind. Next, he would need the help of the wandering trader who had brought him here to introduce him to the arena queen. Through her, he could get access to the Haemonculus behind her work.

The repair of the Emperor's Golden Throne could not be delayed. According to the Mechanicus, the throne would completely fail in two to three centuries at most.

And those fools in the Mechanicus had no idea how to repair it—let alone understand how it even worked.

Among all the Xenos in the galaxy, perhaps the Necron Crypteks might possess the capability to repair the Golden Throne. But the Necrons were utterly unapproachable and would never help the Imperium repair it.

Among the other xenos species, the only viable option was the Haemonculi of the Dark Eldar. After all, it would be absurd to turn to the Ork Mekboyz or the Tau, whose technological level was inferior to even the Imperium's.

Thus, the only choice available to the Imperium was the Dark Eldar. Both sides shared a common interest—if the Golden Throne failed and the Astronomican went dark, humanity would be wiped out.

If humanity perished, the Dark Eldar would lose their primary source of souls. They would then be devoured entirely by Slaanesh or forced to face the Chaos forces, the Tyranids, the Orks, and even the Necrons head-on.

The High Lords of Terra were convinced that the Dark Eldar would not stand idly by and let humanity die.

...

"Lord Loki! The strength of these enhanced monster-warriors far exceeds my expectations. I initially thought they would suffer some losses, but they managed to take down those Chaos Space Marines without a single casualty," Lelith remarked, looking at Rhodes.

She was somewhat tempted. She wanted to try this genetic enhancement herself. After all, even though it turned one into a monster, they could revert to normal after combat.

"Haha! As long as you like it. This is part of our deal, after all. Don't forget the other two matters we agreed upon, Lelith—introducing me to the Haemonculi so I can purchase a few things from them, as well as arranging a meeting with Yraine of the Craftworld Eldar," Rhodes replied.

Creating the Zetton Legion and resurrecting the Thirteenth Primarch were the most critical objectives.

"Don't worry, Lord Loki. I've been keeping those tasks in mind. I've already used my connections to schedule a meeting with the Haemonculi. If it's just to purchase some biological research equipment, the cost shouldn't be too high, as it doesn't require them to provide any genetic modification services."

"Besides, we've made enough money recently to cover it. The Haemonculi are willing to pay a high price themselves to acquire the method for creating these new icy warriors," Lelith explained.

Truth be told, this descendant of the ancient Eldar Empire's nobility was also proficient in genetic engineering. Strictly speaking, she could qualify as a Haemonculus herself, though she hadn't altered her body into a monstrous form.

Rhodes nodded in satisfaction. Over the next few days, the arena queen organized several more gladiatorial matches, showcasing the power of the frost warriors.

And let these Frost Warriors confront the Tyranid Swarm and even some Orks in battle. Naturally, the result was a resounding victory, which thoroughly established the reputation of this product.

Arena Queen Lelith also genetically modified the high-tier warlocks and succubi under her command, transforming them into Frost Monster Warriors. These Frost Warriors displayed unimaginable strength, terrifying physical prowess, incredible agility, and powerful elemental attacks—virtually without any weaknesses.

In addition, the Arena Queen showcased another product from Rhodes: warriors enhanced with the genes of the ancient dragon beast, Melba. Even the smaller red dragons, which were products of failed enhancements, were sent into the arena to fight Tyranid beasts and duel with warlocks from other martial arenas. The perfectly enhanced monster warriors were named Dragon Knights by the Arena Queen and quickly became stars in the brutal arena.

Even some Haemonculi proactively contacted the Arena Queen, expressing their desire to purchase some of these Frost Warriors, Dragon Knights, and even the failed red dragon experiments. Naturally, Rhodes was more than willing to oblige. With the Arena Queen acting as a mediator, both parties agreed to meet in a few days to discuss the specifics of the trade. Rhodes planned to bring Balt with him to help the Haemonculi select and purchase products, ensuring his laboratory could be set up as soon as possible.

...

That night, as Rhodes was preparing to return to his spaceship for some rest, the Arena Queen suddenly knocked on his door.

"Lord Loki, are you there? I'm sorry to bother you so late, but I have a very special guest who wants to meet you," Lelith said.

"A special guest? Who is it? What do they want?" Rhodes asked.

"They claim to be an Inquisitor from the Empire. They say they have a major business proposal for you and that no matter what price you ask, they can agree to it," Lelith replied.

What?! You've got to be kidding me!

An Inquisitor from the Human Empire, here in the Commorragh, looking to do business with me? Could they have discovered my status as the Emperor's chosen?

No way, right? Since when did the Inquisition work this efficiently? It's normal for them to delay matters for centuries!

"A Human Empire Inquisitor? Can you tell me what they're here for?" Rhodes opened the door.

"Lord Loki, they didn't specify. But I believe this could be a big deal. They mentioned that if you fulfill their request, you can name any terms. Didn't you say earlier that you wanted some Space Marines for your experiments? I've already purchased some from Commorragh for you, along with a few Battle Sister slaves, who are on their way here. If you need more, this Inquisitor might even sell you some," Lelith said.

What the hell? Buying Space Marines and Battle Sisters from the Empire?! Are these seriously commodities now?

These Imperial High Lords and Inquisitors, they're gutsy, huh? Selling Space Marines?

Rhodes decided he had to meet this audacious Inquisitor and see who exactly they were.

"I'll meet this Human leader and see if their offer is worth my time," Rhodes said.

"Lord Loki, please follow me. They're already here. Feel free to demand an outrageous price—I think they seem desperate, so they likely have urgent needs," Lelith said.

"Alright," Rhodes nodded.

Soon, Rhodes was led to a guest room, where several humans were waiting. Among them stood four Deathwatch guards clad in black power armor, a Human Empire Inquisitor, and a Rogue Trader.

"Greetings, Lord Loki. I am Inquisitor Damz of the Human Empire," the Inquisitor said.

"The Rogue Trader of the Kaos family offers you their respects," added the trader, bowing alongside the Inquisitor.

"Hmm. I've heard you have business with me. Let me be clear—I charge a high price," Rhodes replied.

"Lord Loki, as long as you can fulfill our request, the Human Empire will meet your demands. Even if you ask for 10 billion human souls and a Forge World, I can promise it," Damz said.

What the heck? Are human civilians just currency to you guys?

"Tell me your request. Are you here to purchase my new type of genetically modified warriors, or is it something else?" Rhodes asked.

If they came to me, it must be because they're interested in the monster-enhanced warriors. Could it be that the Human Empire also wants this kind of product?

"Lord Loki, I'll be direct. A critical piece of equipment in the Human Empire has malfunctioned, and we need an exceptionally skilled expert to repair it. You are our chosen candidate. We'd like to ask you to repair the Golden Throne. What do you say?"

"…"

Rhodes was speechless.

The Old Man on the Throne has sent for me?! Someone wants me to fix his toilet?!

PS: Does the Emperor poop? xD
