"Clang! Clang! Clang!"
Just when Victor and Kierra were expecting more monsters to slay, they encountered something unexpected.
Players.
Ahead of them, a group of players was locked in battle against a pack of feral wolves. But these weren't the weak wolves Victor had encountered before.
[ Elite Feral Wolf - Level 7 ]
[ HP: 200 ]
[ Danger Level: Medium ]
The players were at a clear disadvantage. The wolves numbered around seven or eight, while the players were only four.
Scattered around the battlefield were the charred remains of fallen players, their bodies reduced to blackened husks.
From Victor's observation, these Elite Wolves must have fire-based abilities.
And his assumption was confirmed as one of the wolves launched a stream of flames from its mouth.
Victor and Kierra exchanged glances from behind a tree, silently assessing the situation.
Saving the players wasn't their priority—their own survival was.
Both shared the same mindset. They wouldn't rush in blindly.
But if they determined they had a chance to win, they would intervene.
After all, in Supreme Game, there was no revival function.
Death here meant complete and irreversible death, both in the game and in the real world.
Every player knew this terrifying truth.
Yet, they still chose to play.
Because the rewards… were worth the risk.
"Do you want to help them?" Victor asked, glancing at Kierra's restless figure.
"Yes. But there are four Level 8 wolves, and their defense is seriously strong. My Fire Arrows won't be able to do much damage with their swift movements and high defense. If only I had a more destructive spell—like a Fireball spell," she lamented, clicking her tongue in frustration.
'Fireball Spell?'
Victor smirked inwardly before taking out the Fireball Spell he had acquired from the Village Chief.
"Here. Is this what you're looking for, Kierra?" he said, holding up the glowing red book with a playful grin.
Kierra's eyes widened in disbelief as she read the book's details.
"A Fireball Spell?! H-how do you have this, Raizel?" she asked, astonished. Instinctively, her hand reached out to grab it.
But Victor smoothly pulled it away, just out of her reach, a calculative smile spreading across his face.
"We should settle on a price first, shouldn't we, dear customer?"
Looking at the smug face in front of her, Kierra felt an overwhelming urge to punch it. But she controlled herself.
"Wow! You're actually asking for money, Raizel? I thought we were friends," she scoffed, her tone dripping with disdain.
Victor simply shook his head. "We shouldn't mix business with personal relationships, little lady. I have a family to feed, you know. So stop stalling and make an offer.
Do it fast, or those guys will be dead before we even step in." His tone was calm, almost indifferent.
Kierra huffed in frustration. "Fine… What else can I expect from a greedy bastard like you? How about… ten thousand dollars?" She offered hesitantly, watching his face for any reaction.
"Deal." Victor agreed almost instantly.
He had expected at most two or three thousand dollars, so when she offered ten thousand, he saw no reason to hesitate.
Sure, he could have pushed for more, and she might have even agreed, but appearing too greedy in an emergency situation wouldn't be wise.
Seeing how quickly he accepted the deal made Kierra pause. 'Did I just get ripped off?'
She had no way of knowing for sure. Bargaining wasn't her strong suit. She only had some basic knowledge about pricing scale.
Nevertheless, the deal was complete, and she acquired the spell immediately.
Naturally, she couldn't pay him outright. Only when they returned to the real world would she be able to transfer the money through a bank or an online platform.
A red aura emitted from her as she swiftly learned the spell.
Feeling the newfound power, she grinned and stood proudly.
"Alright... Now let's take them out, Raizel," she declared, stepping forward with confidence.
Victor followed beside her, gripping his steel sword tightly.
This battle would be trickier, but as long as he got close to the weaker wolves, he could take them down with ease while Kierra focused on the level 8 wolves.
He had to fight in close combat—otherwise, his own magic-nullifying field would cancel out her spells.
Kierra understood that too, so she was naturally prepared.
[ Fireball ]
When they were about 20 meters away from the wolves, Kierra quickly cast her newly acquired spell.
At first, a tiny ember flickered into existence in her palm. But within seconds, it swelled, rapidly expanding into a searing fireball the size of a basketball, glowing an intense heat.
"Whoosh! Sizzle, sizzle!"
Kierra hurled the scorching fireball straight at the pack of wolves. It crackled violently in the air, radiating intense heat, ready to explode on impact.
"Get away!" Victor shouted, his voice aimed at those players.
The three surviving players glanced back in alarm.
After that seeing the fireball blazing toward them, they instinctively scrambled backward, their skin tingling from the sheer heat waves rolling off the attack.
Meanwhile, the wolves momentarily hesitated, their attention diverted by the sudden shout. Their puzzled eyes flickered toward the newcomers, then to something more—
Danger.
They wanted to flee, but it was already too late.
"BOOM!"
The fireball struck the ground in the midst of the pack, erupting in a fiery explosion that engulfed the wolves in flames.
"Oh, damn…"
Victor was stunned by the sheer scale of the explosion. It was nothing like the Fireball spell the Village Chief had cast during their confrontation.
This was on an entirely different level.
The Fireball spell in Kierra's hands had become far more destructive, likely due to her natural talent in Mana Control—something Raizel had read about in books.
A player's spell effectiveness wasn't just about the spell itself but also about their ability to manipulate mana and how much they could channel into each activation.
Only an inborn talent like Kierra could pull off something like this.
But Victor simply smirked.
Because deep down, he had a feeling—a certainty—that his Anti-Magic could nullify even her most powerful Fireball.
It wasn't just a guess. It was an instinctive truth.
