Liam's POV:
The courtroom was at the verge of chaos. I could feel the tension in the air as the council members bickered back and forth, their voices getting louder with each passing moment. The whole idea of letting me into their city, and even allowing me to stay, was turning into a hot topic of argument.
Just as expected, seventy percent of the council opposed my presence. Their eyes, sharp and filled with suspicion, bore into me like daggers. Twenty-five percent remained neutral, unwilling to take a clear stance, and a mere five percent had no issue with me staying. A meager five percent.
The odds were laughable.
