Chapter: 73

ZEKE's POV
The instant I finished saying those words, I tried to move, to teleport, but I couldn't. I just stood there, unable to do a thing, my eyes gazing at where Seraphina was.
"Oh, blame your friend for that," she said.
"For what?" Vaelith asked, looking lost and not knowing what we were talking about.
He muttered an "ohh" when he finally realized what it was we were referring to.
"You might want to start heading back home to pick him up before the demons get there before you," Vaelith said. I knew what he wanted—enough time for a few moments with Seraphina.
Without hesitation, I left the dining room, leaving the food prepared untouched, and went straight back to my car.
I checked the time; it was five-thirty in the evening. The journey home was nothing less than two hours. I knew I needed to be there soon, and there wasn't much time to waste.
