ZEKE's POV
I was left with nothing but my boxers—everything else had been ripped off me by Roman. Worse, I was growing weaker with each passing second, thanks to the wolfsbane-silver handcuffs he had clamped onto my wrists earlier. The slow drain of strength was maddening, frustration and rage boiling inside me.
"So, let's begin with this," Roman said, his voice dripping with mockery as he pulled out a bottle of wine—one I instantly recognized from my private collection.
It hit me then. All the while I'd been at the Bloodbind Circle, he'd been busy. Planning. Setting everything up.
My eyes flickered toward the table where he'd grabbed the knife earlier—and there it was: a grim confirmation of my thoughts. Spread out neatly were various instruments of torture, their sharp edges catching what little light the room offered.
Roman caught my gaze and chuckled darkly. "Oh, curious, are we?" he teased. "Want a better look at what I have prepared for you?"
