Aaron returned to his cabin a minute after leaving the officer's room. When he returned, he saw that Samantha was pacing inside the cabin, clearly waiting for him to return.
The moment he stepped inside, "How did it go?" she asked him.
Aaron told her what exactly went down with the officer.
She frowned when she learned about the matter with the guard officer. The guard officer was someone who failed to reach higher ranks and would probably not attain in the future.
She has seen people like that officer. Someone who is frustrated that they can't gain anything in the world and projects their issues onto others.
The officer was clearly not satisfied with his life and was taking that frustration on Aaron, the Death Mage who reached the top rank in the entire alliance. For the officer, Aaron is not someone who can reach Rank-7 or higher in his life, and the officer can make fun of him as much as he can without facing any consequences now nor in the future.
