Otto revealed everything. The tradition, the people who were involved, the people who had known about it but stayed silent and let it happen. He said it all.
And how did he find out?
Apparently, my mother was an idiot who had been absorbed in her own world. She only focused on the people around her and failed to consider that other people existed. As long as the people who interacted with her posed no threat, she did not care to look beyond them. She did not see the others villagers as a threat or even, as anything.
She used her out of the ordinary powers in a completely ordinary town and while she had not realized it, people noticed. They noticed that the behaviors of my grandparents were not consistent, they noticed that their memories faltered and most of the time, often times forgetting important things. Their memories of a random woman who was a guest in their house was inconsistent. Some days they knew and were against it, other days, they did not know.
