Was I supposed to know what the dragons owning the island had to do with my inability to use my powers? Because I sure as heck did not know.
"Explain." I sounded dumb just saying that out loud.
"Dragons are warm blooded. They need a lot of heat to stay alive. We might not feel it but this island will instantly melt anything cold. That must be why you cannot make your ice."
Maybe it was because she believed me so easily but I did not know how to react. If the island is the problem, I would continue to be powerless the longer I stayed here. I could not stay here till the next week, the king scared me. I did not want to ever experience what those women experienced.
"You have powers?" Mei asked, not expressing any emotion. "Ice powers?"
I nodded and took a sip of water, unsure of how to have this conversation. She was taking this really well.
