"I hoped you would have been shot in a drive-by by now," Christa snickered, narrowing her eyes on Rain and making him shift behind his Uncle Devon.
"Christa, the fuck. A little insensitive," I sighed, but the left corner of my mouth lifted slightly, and Christa most certainly caught it.
Devon and Nexus snickered, their smiles showing they had thought about it. Honestly, I always worried about it, but now I wish he had, too. It would have saved me a lot of trouble, and I would have met them all at the funeral.
I scoffed at my audacity and shifted my eyes away from the beaming Christa. At least she's momentarily forgotten that her parents locked her little sister into the institute.
