Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: Banner is Dead

"Lei Xiaogu, an immortal being, has lived for seven hundred years. His experience allows him to handle any situation, and he has brought a large number of subordinates. From now on, the company's affairs will be entrusted to him." Kino introduced him solemnly.

Frank frowned, his eyes filled with caution as he asked, "Young Master, can he be trusted?"

"Of course. I have controlled him with a demon contract," Kino replied calmly.

Hearing this, Frank's tense expression instantly relaxed. He let down his guard and began handing over the company's affairs in an orderly manner.

Banner also greeted Kino, his exhaustion evident on his face. "Young Master, I'm going to sleep first. If I don't rest now, I really won't be able to hold on."

With that, he hurried toward the house next to the manor.

"Banner, wait a moment."

Kino called out to Dr. Banner, who was about to leave. In his hand appeared a formula for a potion and a vial of Lazarus Pit water, which he handed over.

"Banner, I might need to trouble you a bit longer. Please experiment with this formula for me. You can start after you've rested."

Kino spoke, feeling more at ease checking Bruce's things himself.

Banner sighed and took the materials helplessly. He casually glanced at them, planning to examine them later after getting some rest.

Suddenly, his movements halted, his expression becoming intensely focused as his eyes locked onto the potion formula.

The paper detailed the properties and effects of the Lazarus Pit water, as well as research directions for the potion.

"Young Master, is this real?" Banner's voice trembled with excitement, his eyes fixated on the vial of blue liquid in his hands as if it were the most precious treasure in the world.

"The water is real, but I still want you to verify the formula and ensure there are no issues. This will be our company's primary product in the future," Kino said seriously.

"The formula seems fine, but I can tell the creator was in a rush. Based on the research direction, five different potions could be developed from it."

Banner's eyes remained glued to the documents, his mind working rapidly.

"Well, I only gave him five days to work on it."

Kino commented. In reality, it only took a day; the rest of the time was spent with Damian and reading comics.

"Young Master, for the subsequent formulas, can I apply for awards under my name?"

Banner's eyes burned with passion, the kind that could set fire to the documents in his hands. Such a groundbreaking discovery could change the world, and every scientist dreamed of such an achievement.

"Of course. I don't need the recognition," Kino agreed without hesitation.

"Thank you, Young Master—! Ugh!"

Banner was ecstatic at first, but in the next second, he clutched his heart in pain. Carefully setting aside the Lazarus Pit water and documents, he collapsed to the ground.

"Banner, you got too excited."

Kino was about to summon Venom to save him when Banner's body turned into black smoke and disappeared, leaving only his clothes behind.

Banner was dead.

"..."

Frank and Lei Xiaogu also noticed the commotion.

"Frank, just how much have you been overworking Banner?" Kino asked, speechless.

"Not much, just a month or so," Frank replied, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

Lei Xiaogu also looked at Frank with caution, silently pondering the terrifying efficiency of this man, who had actually worked someone to death. Even within the League of Assassins, such a death was unheard of.

Before long, a portal opened before Kino. Banner stepped out, wrapped in a tattered cloth.

"Young Master, I'm heading to the laboratory now."

Banner shot Frank a resentful look.

That look sent shivers down Frank's spine.

Banner picked up his clothes and documents, then turned and left.

"Banner, you can take a vacation first," Kino called after him.

"No need. After resurrecting, my body is at peak condition. There's no better time than now."

Banner responded excitedly, quickening his pace.

As he hurried away from the manor, he muttered to himself, "Nobel Prize, Scientific and Technological Innovation Award, Medical Contribution Award, Outstanding Invention Award…"

His voice faded into the distance, leaving Kino looking helpless, Frank appearing slightly awkward, and Lei Xiaogu still recovering from the shock.

Kino turned to Frank and said, "Leave the company to Lei Xiaogu. You should focus on assembling the Demon Artifact Squad."

Frank bowed slightly and answered, "Yes, Young Master."

A hint of relief flashed across his face. He knew he wasn't suited for this kind of work; managing the manor was already his limit.

Ring! Ring!

Frank's phone suddenly rang. He answered quickly, then opened his laptop to receive a video file.

On the screen, a group of robots was chasing each other in the city sky. The scene was intense and chaotic.

"That's Tony. Frank, who called?" Kino asked curiously.

"I don't know. It was a woman's voice. She said to ask you to save Tony," Frank replied with a frown.

"A woman? Let's go check it out."

Kino stretched lazily, looking relaxed and unhurried. Since Tony still had a tracking mark on him and it wasn't reacting, he knew there was no immediate danger.

Thinking for a moment, Kino called out loudly, "Venom, Pamela, Damian, do you want to watch a robot showdown?"

A chorus of agreement echoed back. Venom instantly merged into Kino's body. Kino picked up Pamela, who in turn held Damian. In a flash, they soared into the night sky.

Frank and Lei Xiaogu exchanged glances, shrugged, and continued with their work.

———

In the city sky, Tony Stark, clad in his sleek Iron Man suit, stood out against the dazzling lights and dark night.

He weaved through a swarm of robots with unmatched agility, every twist and turn executed with precision and determination.

The robots swarmed like locusts, their metallic bodies reflecting a cold gleam as they launched relentless attacks at Tony.

Tony fired powerful energy blasts from his hands, instantly destroying several robots. However, more quickly took their place, their bullets raining down like a storm.

Sparks flew as they struck his armor. Tony's face was set in grim focus as he dodged and maneuvered through the air.

"Come on, you metal scrap heaps!"

Tony roared, increasing his firepower. More robots exploded into debris, yet another wave emerged from a nearby factory, filling the gaps left by their fallen counterparts.

"Damn it, Obadiah! Where did you get so many reactors? Has there been a tech leak?!"

Tony cursed, his forehead beading with sweat inside his helmet. His face was flushed with frustration as he dodged frantically, trying to devise a plan. The never-ending waves of enemies made him feel an unusual sense of helplessness.

"Resilience is not just the ability to persist, but the ability to start over."
