Mephisto finally took in the full view of his surroundings and was horrified to realize that he was standing atop an unimaginably massive head.
As he looked further, he saw the entirety of the enormous body—no, its interior. That's right, interior. This colossal being, larger than a planet, had been dissected.
Organs, each the size of mountains, were exposed to the void.
More shockingly, he was not standing on the edge of an open cavity but within the skull's eye socket.
Four deep, bottomless black holes remained where eyes should have been, as if silently narrating the immense pain and torture this entity had suffered.
"Th-The Celestials!"
Mephisto's voice trembled with disbelief and sheer terror.
Throughout the vast universe, the Celestials were among the most powerful beings, said to possess strength rivaling that of the Five Supreme Gods.
Yet here, before him, lay the dissected remains of a Celestial.
Despite being an energy-based entity himself, Mephisto felt an unnatural chill crawl up his spine, spreading throughout his entire being.
That chill threatened to freeze his very soul, making him shudder uncontrollably.
"Oh? So you recognize him."
A voice suddenly echoed beside Mephisto. Without making a sound, Lucifer had appeared at his side. His tone was casual, yet carried an unsettling weight.
"This body is quite powerful. It must have been created by someone formidable. Its abilities were decent, but its personality was rather awful. Since it refused to serve me, I turned it into a puppet."
As Lucifer spoke, he carelessly stepped on the massive skull beneath them.
In an instant, the once-dead Celestial twitched and slowly knelt in the void.
The sight sent a wave of sheer dread crashing over Mephisto. Every hair on his body stood on end, and cold sweat poured down his back like a waterfall.
His eyes widened in sheer terror. It felt as though an invisible hand had clamped around his throat, rendering him speechless.
Lucifer slowly turned to him, a cryptic smile playing on his lips. His expression radiated an eerie chill, as if it emerged from the depths of the abyss.
"What was it you just tried to order me to do?"
His smile carried an unfathomable coldness and wickedness.
Mephisto's heart plummeted into an abyss of despair as terror consumed his last shred of reason.
Run!
That single thought exploded in his mind. Without a moment's hesitation, Mephisto abandoned the portion of his power and consciousness that had come here.
In an instant, his presence in the void vanished like a dying ember, leaving nothing behind.
Back in Hell, Mephisto's eyes snapped open. He gasped desperately for air, as if he had just clawed his way back from death itself.
"Who was that woman?! Such terrifying power…" he murmured, still shaken.
But then—a voice sounded behind him, making his pupils contract in pure dread.
"You sure ran fast."
A hand lightly rested on Mephisto's shoulder. That simple touch alone froze him in place.
He tried summoning his magic—nothing. His power was as still as a stagnant pond.
He attempted to invoke his authority over Hell—no response.
Even his most desperate last resort—death escape and resurrection—was impossible.
Despair filled every corner of Mephisto's mind.
Why had he not just obediently remained a slave? He had kicked an iron wall this time!
It was as if the being behind him could hear his thoughts.
"Relax. You're that little guy's slave. I won't play you to death. But since you've been a bit disobedient, you need some proper discipline."
"Besides, I'm quite curious about the anatomical structure of a demon from this universe."
Before Mephisto could even react, his entire body disappeared into darkness, swallowed whole.
While earth-shattering events unfolded in Hell, Kino remained entirely unaware. He had already returned to the human world.
He materialized inside the mansion's living room.
"Pamela, I'm back."
The moment Kino spoke, the door creaked open, and a green figure dashed toward him.
"My love, you're finally back!"
Pamela's voice rang with emotion.
"Pamela."
Kino's face lit up with a joyous smile as he tightly embraced Pamela, who had thrown herself into his arms.
"I missed you so much, dear. You were gone for ten days."
Pamela buried her face in Kino's chest, her voice laced with longing and a hint of grievance.
"Sorry, I had to take extra time to deal with the enemy completely."
Kino gently stroked her back, full of guilt. This battle had made him more aware of his limits. He wasn't invincible, but in this world, only the Five Supreme Gods could challenge him.
Pamela scanned him carefully, worry evident in her eyes.
"Are you hurt anywhere?"
"No, I utterly crushed him."
Kino chuckled, his tone light and confident. He squeezed Pamela's hand, hoping to reassure her.
Pamela, however, remained unconvinced. She reached out to touch his face, as if verifying that he was truly unharmed.
"Really? Don't you dare hide anything from me."
Kino took her hand and kissed it gently. "My love, I promise, I'm perfectly fine. Stop worrying."
Upstairs, Damian heard the commotion and rushed down.
"Godfather! You're back!"
Damian's face lit up with excitement.
Then—whoosh! Venom suddenly appeared and clung to Damian, nuzzling against him repeatedly.
"Damian! Soft and cuddly! Did you miss me?"
"V-Venom Mom…"
Damian felt himself being squeezed breathless.
As Venom detached, Kino realized something horrifying—he was now completely naked.
Pamela blinked in surprise.
"My love… go get dressed, now."
Pamela's face flushed red.
"Oh… right."
Feeling slightly embarrassed, Kino hurried toward the bedroom. In Hell, nudity hadn't mattered, but here in the human world, he still had some sense of shame.
After dressing, Kino returned to find Pamela preparing food.
"This is delicious," Kino said, devouring ribs hungrily. He had fought for days without a single sip of water, so now, every bite tasted divine.
"Eat slowly. I can always make more."
Pamela smiled. She had learned to cook Chinese dishes. Seeing Kino eat so happily made her appetite grow as well.
"Damian, try some chocolate."
Venom sat before a massive plate of assorted chocolates. While she could eat human food, chocolate was her absolute favorite.
"Thanks, Venom Mom."
Damian took the chocolate and nibbled on it like a snack.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
"…Tony? Why is he here?"
Kino, still chewing, sensed Stark's signature energy and was puzzled.
Pamela, however, was unfazed. With a flick of her fingers, the plants at the door gently pushed it open.
"That guy comes here every day, asking if you're back. He thinks you went off to fight because of him."
She sighed, shaking her head.
Quote of the Chapter:"Some powers are best left unquestioned, for to gaze into true horror is to risk losing oneself forever."
