Now that Iris was gone, she was worried that her words could be misinterpreted and Jace would think she was pushing him away.
Without being told, she knew she had to address the looming issue at hand.
"Jace," she began but his lifted hand silenced her immediately.
"No need to explain Kiera. I'm glad to hear that. You deserve so much better than him. And I want to be a part of your journey, to support you in any way I can."
"Thanks but there's something else. I have two days to solve Campbell's financial problem. I need to focus on that for now. So, I... I think it's best if we say goodbye for a little while."
