Kiera's heart pounded as she caught her breath. She shot a quick, worried glance at Jace, relieved to find him unscathed.
"Someone just rear-ended us,"
Kiera informed him as she rubbed her forehead gingerly.
"Are you alright?" he asked worriedly as he looked at her face which bore signs of pain.
Kiera nodded and Jace leaned in to kiss her forehead.
"I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault."
"Yes and no. I'm going to check it out."
Saying that he withdrew from her and unlocked the car doors.
The rage brewing within him was barely contained as he stepped out of the car, heading to confront the reckless driver.
From the intrusive vehicle, Nicholas and Cristal emerged as Kiera did too, ignoring Jace's silent warning for her to stay inside.
Taken aback by the sight of Kiera and Jace in front of her, Cristal instinctively clung to Nicholas's arm. Cristal noticed the subtle resistance from Nicholas but in the end, he finally acquiesced to Cristal's hold.
