[Chicago/Ground zero]
[15 minutes earlier]
A young frightened girl runs down the quiet streets of Chicago, a monstrous roar echoes throughout the streets scaring the young girl more as she sees a lean fair skined man wearing a light blue buttoned long sleeved shirt with black pants and has brown hair, opening a door with a metal bat in hand and gesturing to her guy1: "Hurry!"
He yells out to her as the monstrous roars echoes again this time louder than before. The young girl gets inside the building and the man with 4 other man quickly barricades the door with heavy furniture afterwards they all move away from the door and hear more than one monstrous roars with heavy steps of a stampede.
Guy1: Alright... [He crouches down to look at the still frightened girk] Are you okay? Did the monsters hurt you? [The girl shakes her head to him and replies "I'm okay."] Okay, what's your name?
"I-It's Mary." The girl answers hesitantly as she looks at the man with sadness in her eyes.
Guy1: Okay, my name is Thomas. Where are your parents or siblings?
Mary: I don't know. The big scary men took them.
Thomas: Oh... Okay. Well, Mary... You'll be safe here okay? We gonna find your parents once it's safe to go out, okay?
Mary nods to Thomas before he pats her on the shoulder and holds her hand taking her deeper into the building with 4 men until they enter a large corridor with other survivors.
Thomas: Mary, I want you to stay here with the rest of these people okay? Don't follow any man into any room, if they say anything you come and tell me if I'm not around, you come and tell him— [points at a male with a pale skin, light red iris eyes, black hair and wears a blue buttoned short-sleeved shirt with a police ballistic vest, black pants with black knee pads and black combat boots.] His name is Kiyoshi he's a great guy, he won't let anything happen to you or anyone else in this place okay?
Mary: Okay. [She watches a few kids play a game and looks at Thomas] Can I go play with them?
Thomas: Go for it sport.
Mary smiles and walks off to play with the other children. A heavy tremor is felt making Thomas worried. Kiyoshi walks up to Thomas with the same expression.
Thomas: I know, I know. It's the seventh time.
Kiyoshi: Thomas... Its only a matter of time until those things find us. Bringing more and more people here will cause alot of problems. Heck, we even running out of food.
Thomas: [Sighs] You right... But we just need to CAREFULLY bring in just a bit more people and make a great supply runs until the Apex send in the big guns and save us.
Kiyoshi: And what happens when they don't come? Or-or they show up and everyone's dead?
Thomas: THAT WON'T HAPPEN!
An earthquake shakes the entire building and the entrance doors gets blown open by a strong wind current, the applications turned on, all flicker to complete darkness then after ten seconds a red light in the corridor ceiling turns on.
Thomas: What the hell?
Two individuals appear:
– one being a man with fair skin complexion wearing a grey suit with black gloves and sunglasses that completely hides his eyes. He walks up front from the rest of the civilians to stand infront of both Kiyoshi and Thomas. "Stand back or you'll die."
– The other being a female wearing a black suit with her hands gripped onto the strap of her black backpack. She walks right behind the man.
Thomas: What? Who the hell are you?
Exorcist: I'm an exorcist, here to make sure you all don't die here. So do what I say and stand back.
Kiyoshi: An Exorcist? Man, this not a fucking movie set!
Exorcist: [He chuckles] I wish it was, Officer. [He taps his fist on Kiyoshi's shoulder before looking directly at the dark corridor where the entrance door is.]
There's a loud hissing sound, Thomas, Kiyoshi and the female exorcist take steps back leaving the male exorcist standing tall infront of everyone.
Demonic red tentacles appear from the darkness lunging towards everyone.
Kiyoshi: Shit! HEY, MAN RUUN!! [He speaks to the male exorcist before running up to save him but gets hit back by the man swinging his left arm back, hitting kiyoshi and sending him flying 10 metres.
Exorcist: [He extends his right palm and says the command "STOP" in a tone that sounds almost divine-like and ominous. The tentacles stop inches away from his face.]
Everyone in the hallway watch in awe as the male exorcist commands the tentacles to stop.
Exorcist: Hm... Time for the real fun to begin. [He smirks at the tentacles before they combust into flames, hissing sounds of agony heard from the darkness before the tentacles retreat back into the darkness.]
Kiyoshi could hardly believe what he's seeing, his mouth agape in surprise as the tentacles are engulfed in flames and disappear into the darkness.
Thomas: He's... HE'S A MUTANT!!
Exorcist: Eh? A Mutant? [He looks back at Thomas before every person starts throwing empty cans and other small stuff at him.] Tch... [He uses his arms and manages to block off most of the projectiles headed for his head.] Wait! I'm not a muta— [He gets struck in the head by a rock that causes him to fall back go the ground.]
The female exorcist takes a step forward wanting to help her partner but comes to a immediate halt as he tells her "Lil, don't..." Having her feel torn between wanting to disregard and or obey his order as she watches him get bombard by thrown projectiles before Kiyoshi makes everyone stop what their doing with one bullet fired into the ceiling.
Kiyoshi walks up to the male exorcist and helps him up on his feet.
Thomas: Kiyoshi... what the hell are you doing, man?!
Random girl: Yeah! Thats a freak!
Random guy: An evil mutant!
Everyone in the corridor begin to talk at once, complaining.
Kiyoshi: Could you all shut the fuck up! Mutant or not. This man has saved us from... whatever the hell that was.
They'd all be in silence after been told to be quiet by Kiyoshi.
Exorcist: Yeah. And again... I'm not... a mutant... I'm an exorcist. [He speaks weakly, feeling disoriented after being hit with so many stuff.] And that thing... was a demon. And there are more in the city heading our way, officer because of the population gathered. We all need to exit the building, immediately.
Kiyoshi: Al–Alright. But we'll be hunted out there. How are we gonna leave this place or leave the city?
Exorcist: Easy... [He pants in exhaustion before getting his torso grabbed by the demonic tentacles that has returned.] Uh?!
Kiyoshi: ?!
Everyones eyes widen up in horror as the demonic tentacles make their return and grab the exorcist before pulling him into the dark.
Thomas: Shiiit! [He screams and points out at more tentacles returning and immediately after 3 seconds of appearing go after everyone they can leech onto in the corridors.]
6 seconds in the tentacles all explode covering everything and everyone in the corridors in its black blood. The appliances that flicked off, all turn back on, revealing The male exorcist standing with both hands on his knees covered in the demon's blood.
Satoshi: Hey...! [Pants] It's clear, head towards the back door of the place.
Thomas: Yeah... [He turns to all the other people.] Everyone! Follow me to the exit! [He gestures to everyone as walks through towards the other end of the corridors before grabbed on the shoulder by Kiyoshi.] Hm?
Kiyoshi: Hey, I'm gonna stay back, see if i could try and help.
Thomas: Okay. I'll uh... check if there's others in the other floors.
Kiyoshi nods before Thomas goes back to leading everyone towards the back exit door. Kiyoshi on the other hand, walks towards the exorcist and the female he believes to be also an exorcist but is shaken back by how quiet and unhelpful she's been the whole time.
Kiyoshi: You are one hell of an exorcist, man. I'm kiyoshi Patel by the way.
Exorcist: Patel? [he cracks his back and shakes hands with Kiyoshi.] I met your father once. He was a great man.
Kiyoshi: So I heard...
Exorcist: [Pats Kiyoshi's arm.] He would be proud to see who you've become, Kiyoshi. [He turns his head to the front entrance, hearing and seeing shadows of Demons getting closer.] Alright, we need to buy everyone in the building time to exit. [He looks back at his partner] Lillian. [He gestures her to come to him.]
Lillian: [At first, she has been hesitating, having her eyes flicker between the exorcist's bloodied form and the front entrance that she sees shadows of the demons on the ground getting larger and larger. "Lillian." She flinches after hearing him call for her, she then proceeds to walk up to him with a mixture of worry and determination in her eyes.]
Exorcist: Oo-wee— [He slicks his hair back with the blood and takes off the bloodied sunglasses revealing his eyes to be glowing in a yellow color. Seeing Lillian stand next to him on his left, he places a palm on her shoulder and looks at her with a smile, seeing the worry present in her eyes.] You ready for this, Lil?
Lillian: [She looks up at his eyes, admiring their glowing yellow color for a moment before She nods firmly, a resolute expression on her face.] I'm ready.
Kiyoshi: An exorcist too?
Exorcist: Yep, and a fine one at best too. [Pats her shoulder before walking to the entrance door.] This building is too big to just have two entrances.
Kiyoshi: You're right. It has two more. One underground for car parkings. And the other on the second floor.
Exorcist: Uh... what floor are we on?
Kiyoshi: The fourth.
Lillian: Well that complicates things. We need to self guard the entrances for EVERYONE still present in the building.
Exorcist: Yeah... [He sighs before scratching his head as he feels a burning sensation; he's hyperventilating.] Grrrr... [He grunts.]
Lillian: [She notices his distress, his scratching and heavy breathing catching her attention. She moves closer to him, with a worried expression on her face.] Hey, are you alright? You look unwell.
Exorcist: Yeah yeah, I'm fine. I'm just... Thinking.
Kiyoshi: Well, think faster man. I don't think those demons are gonna be polite enough to spare everyone in this building.
Lillian: [She looks at Kiyoshi, slightly annoyed at his impatient tone, but her focus quickly shifts back to her partner, studying his condition.] You don't look alright. You're hyperventilating and scratching yourself... Maybe we can figure something out without you overexerting yourself.
Exorcist: No... [He looks at them both.] I have an idea. The car parking entrance will be guarded by me. Lil, you gaurd this floor's entrance. Kiyoshi, you'll...
Kiyoshi: Guard the second floor entrance.
Exorcist: Hell yeah, you will.
Kiyoshi: Hm... First time hearing an Exorcist say "hell yeah."
Exorcist: Get... tch... used to it.
Lillian: [She chuckles softly, amused by his response. Even in his current state, he still manages to maintain a bit of humor and attitude.] Alright, we got the plan. Let's do this.
Exorcist: No, wait! Nevermind. Change of plans...
Both Lillian and Kiyoshi look at him annoyed.
Exorcist: With how my condition is and your... gifts Lil, there's no doubt we will all die in this building. So here's a proper plan: I'll head to the car parking, kiyoshi heads to the second floor and we shut those entrances completely off. After that we head back to Lil's entrance which will be the only entrance open for these demons to try go through, the only entrance that we all gonna have to defend.
Kiyoshi: Won't the demons have enough strength to bust through the walls and stuff?
Exorcist: They do but they won't.
Kiyoshi: W-what makes you say that?
Exorcist: They like toying with humans and know that the people in this city have only a limited number of places to hide or take shelter in before they could get us, making chasing after their prey and smashing through walls unnecessary.
Kiyoshi: Tch...
Exorcist: Lil, will you be fine being alone here?
Lillian: Yeah.
Exorcist: Great! [He smiles weakly at her as his glowing eyes begin to flicker slowly.] Let's get this party started!
