Haider Evans struggled as he closed his eyes. When he opened them again, his pupils were already blood-red!
Avril, on the other hand, kept her head low as she was trying to deal with her wound. She was not aware of anything.
Haider opened his mouth and exposed his fangs. In a minute, he lurched forward and reached for her neck...Avril finally stopped the bleeding.
As she heaved a sigh of relief, she felt something strange from behind. She turned her head and got a big shock!
What was Haider doing?
Haider had both his hands on the bed, and he was crouching like a cheetah. He looked at her with an unusual wide grin, as if she was his prey.
"What are you doing?!" Avril shoved at him.
Was he so addicted to teasing her and now he wanted to scare her with a horrific look?
Haider withdrew his expression, pretending to be relaxed and asked, "You teased me first! Why can't I do the same thing to you?"
D*mn it! He was so close to have hurt her!
"I..." Avril felt a little awkward.
"So he knew that I cooked that 'awful' dish on purpose?" she thought. She looked at Haider with guilt.
"I didn't mean it." Haider raised his hand, gently tapped Avril's hair, and said, "I know.
Then he stood up and walked to the door.
"You can be assured that I won't do anything to you without your consent, but don't be naughty anymore. By the way, Angie and I are not like what you think. We weren't serious about our relationship."
Avril stared at the closed door blankly for quite some time. She then gathered her thoughts and realized, "Something is wrong! He still did take advantage of me!" And did he just say that he wasn't being serious with Angie? Did he mean that he didn't like Angie at all?
Avril went for a shower while she repeatedly complained about how mischievous Haider was. She wrapped her half-dried hair in a towel and walked into the dressing room to get her pajamas. Then, she was shocked by what she saw.
The dressing room was as big as a typical bedroom. It had all kinds of clothes, for all seasons and all brands. To her surprise, she noticed that they were all in her size.
Avril stood still in shock and gasped in awe.
"That's way too surprising!" Although she always called herself 'the independent woman in this generation', she always thought that scenes like this in TV dramas were childish. But when it happened to her, she had to admit that she was allured. Avril had a weird habit. She liked collecting all sorts of clothes and bags. She couldn't resist any pretty things, just like how a little girl could not resist the temptation of a doll.
Avril could not hold herself back but squeal, "Haider, you know women really well!"
He filled her dressing room in just an afternoon, and the clothes were all new. Wasn't he taking things too seriously?
Avril felt much better about Haider now. She was secretly upgrading his grades in her heart.
Her fingers trembled as they slid across the neatly-arranged clothes. Avril was really excited.
She took off her bathrobe and said, "Pretty darlings, I'm coming!"
Haider was going through some documents on his bed. He couldn't help but giggle as he heard what happened upstairs.
"Isn't she cute? She is still the same, as easily satisfied as she was." Haider thought. As the dusk grew deeper, after making sure Avril was asleep, Haider grabbed a coat and went out quietly. Panda Bar was a bar which opened its business for men only.
The men who came here basically brought with them the idea of "seeking beautiful men" After he rejected the 10th man's 'concern' for him, Haider Evans finally met his good friend, Pete Ventrue.
"Hey! Buddy!" Pete patted him on the shoulder and sat down beside him.
"Why are you here today? Did you change your preference for ladies?" Haider slapped away Pete's face full of wretched smiles.
"Stop joking around. I've got business to talk to you about."
"Oh?" Pete came close to Haider and sniffed like a dog.
"Did you drink the Reaction Inhibitor Solution?"
"Yes," Haider replied nonchalantly, shaking the whiskey in his hand as if it's not a big deal at all.
Pete stopped his playful smiling and put on a serious face.
"Are you crazy? Don't you know how much harm this thing can cause?" The Reaction Inhibitor Solution could temporarily control the agitation of the vampire's body, but it could make the vampires become very weak for a period of time, especially because of Haider's special identity, he could be in danger at any time, not to mention the full moon was approaching...
"It's an emergency. There's nothing else we can do." Haider raised his head and gulped a mouthful of whiskey directly into his throat. He can't hurt Avril just because he can't control the agitation in his body! She was his only weakness, and he won't let anyone have the chance to hurt her. Pete looked at him curiously.
"Besides Lilith, who else in this world is worth it for you to do this?"
Could it be that Haider had finally let go of his longing, and fallen in love with another girl? Pete was very surprised, wondering who could win their almighty leader of the Vampires, Haider's, heart. Hearing Pete's words, Haider lowered his head and smiled. A trace of tenderness flashed in his eyes, "Still her!" Her? Lilith? Pete's eyes widened in surprise.
"You mean, the person who made you drink the Reaction Inhibitor Solution was Lilith?"
Oh my god! Was it real? After wandering around for so long, he still chose her?
Haider didn't answer, admitting in silence.
"Geez! You have no one else to fancy except her, don't you?" Pete lost his words. Who could have thought that the influential big shot of the Vampires was only infatuated with that girl?
Five years ago, after falling into a clan war just for a woman and successfully getting the top position, he immediately returned to the human society. Pete thought that he had finally thought it through and was about to start all over again. Who knew that he would go back looking for that woman again!
When Pete thought of how that woman had once plunged Haider deep into an abyss and almost caused him to lose his life, Pete could not help but feel angry.
Magnificent lights were shining on the people who were enjoying themselves on the dance space. The people around them were indulged in a luxurious atmosphere, but this small space was full of subtle atmosphere.
There was a bitter smile at the corner of Haider's mouth. He shook the glass and remained silent.
He thought that if he tried his best to gain the power, he would be able to protect her safe and sound, but who would have thought that she would still be in danger by his side?
Haider said, "Let's get down to business. Pete, could you do me a favor?"
