Mickey's eyes flashed, and he stammered, "No, I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you, I had a friend who called me and asked me to take him to the east district too. He has some errands to run over there, you see."
Hearing his explanation, Avril did not think much about it, but somehow, the pendant around her neck began to heat up slightly, as if warning her of something.
They had been driving for half an hour. Avril seemed to hear a few muffled groans coming from the distance as if someone had been beaten up.
