JANE
Brian walked out and immediately looked at me. I averted my gaze before he could catch me looking and stared at the photos with interest. Through my peripheral vision, I saw him walking away in the opposite direction and I turned around.
Taking a deep breath, I passed a warm smile at the receptionist and strolled away, making sure the receptionist wouldn't doubt anything.
Brian kept walking and I kept following slowly. To others, it would look like I was just taking a stroll and looking around.
I saw him stopping outside a door and I stopped where I was before pulling my phone out and acting as if I was looking at something in it. Taking a few steps back while staring at the phone, I leaned on a pillar to hide myself from Brian.
I switched on the front camera of my phone and raised it at an angle which would look like I was taking a selfie. I could see Brian through the camera as he looked around.
He couldn't see me.
