The next morning came faster than Yuna had anticipated. She had hardly slept, her mind racing with thoughts of Seok Jin and the looming board meeting. The battle for control of the company wasn't over—far from it. The real war was just beginning.

Her office, located at the heart of the towering skyscraper, was both a sanctuary and a battlefield. Yuna walked through the glass doors, greeted by the sterile, efficient hum of the workplace. Her staff was already busy at their desks, the low murmur of conversations blending with the sound of keyboards clacking.

She stopped by Sooyeon's desk first, as usual. Her secretary was always prepared, always on time.

"Good morning, Ms. Han," Sooyeon said, standing up in a fluid motion. "Everything is set for the meeting. The board members are arriving in an hour, and I've already placed your documents in the conference room."

"Thank you," Yuna replied, giving her a curt nod.

As Sooyeon turned back to her work, Yuna moved on to her next stop—her team. A trio of employees, who, much to their delight, were anything but predictable.

There was Minji, who sat slouched in her chair as if she had all the time in the world despite the looming deadlines. "Hey, Yuna!" she greeted, a cheeky grin on her face. "How's the war going? Seok Jin giving you trouble yet?"

Yuna smirked, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "You could say that."

Then there was Jiwon's cousin, Hee Jin, who was always the first to notice when something was wrong. "You don't look like you slept last night," she remarked, peering at Yuna with concern.

Yuna raised an eyebrow. "I didn't. I have bigger things to focus on."

"Oh right," Minji chimed in, eyes glinting with mischief. "Seok Jin is your biggest concern right now, isn't he? Not the board members, not the merger… just that tall, handsome, arrogant jerk."

Yuna shot her a pointed look. "Minji, focus."

Minji raised her hands in mock surrender. "Just saying, though. If you want to make him lose his cool, you need to get under his skin more. He's not used to losing, right?"

Yuna didn't respond. She didn't need to. The way Seok Jin operated was no mystery to her. He was ruthless, efficient, and calculating—traits she herself shared. But she had something he didn't: the loyalty of her people. And she'd be damned if she let him take it all away.

An Hour Later...

The conference room was full of tension as the board members began filing in. Yuna sat at the head of the table, her posture regal and unwavering. As the meeting began, she laid out her vision for the company's future—new ventures, increased profits, and global expansion. It was a pitch that she knew would secure her place as the leader of the company. But she
