Chapter 49 - Claudine is bitten

Claudine and Ezrianna walked hand in hand through the forest, talking about silly things; the only sound apart from their voices was the crunching of leaves beneath their feet. The moon cast eerie shadows on the trees, making them seem to twist and writhe like living things. As they turned a bend in the path, they saw something move. They weren't scared, but they became very cautious, and then a figure emerged from behind a tree. At first, they thought it was one of Denzel's pack members until he turned and snarled at them.Their hearts skipped a beat as they froze, fear creeping up their spines. The werewolf took a step closer, its eyes fixed on Claudine. She tried to step back, but her feet seemed rooted to the spot. Ezrianna tried to push her behind her, but Claudine was paralyzed with fear. And then, the werewolf attacked. It lunged at Claudine, but Ezrianna stood in front of her. Stay away from her, Ezrianna said confidently. Just after she finished her sentence, the werewolf grabbed her by the n, and, and threw her.Ezrianna tried to fight back, but the werewolf was too fast. It turned on her, its claws swiping at her with deadly precision. She tried to summon her magic, but the werewolf's power was too overwhelming. It was as if it had been waiting for her, anticipating her every move.Just as the werewolf was about to deliver the final blow, Ezrianna remembered the words of an ancient spell. She whispered them under her breath, feeling a surge of energy course through her veins. The werewolf hesitated, its claws pausing in mid-air. For a moment, Ezrianna thought she had gained the upper hand. But then, the werewolf's eyes flashed with anger, and it struck again.Ezrianna felt herself being lifted off the ground, her body slamming into a nearby tree. She slid to the ground, dazed and disoriented. As she looked up, she saw the werewolf standing over her, its eyes blazing with fury. She knew she had to think fast or risk losing everything. With a surge of adrenaline, Ezrianna reached deep within herself, summoning every last ounce of magic. She felt the power coursing through her veins, building in intensity. And then, in a burst of light and energy, Ezrianna unleashed her magic. The werewolf stumbled back, its eyes wide with surprise. For a moment, Ezrianna thought she had won. But then, the werewolf began to laugh. Its eyes glowed with an otherworldly light, and it spoke in a voice that sent shivers down Ezrianna's spine."You think you can defeat me?" it growled. "I am the master of the night. And you, little witch, are no match for me."The werewolf took a step closer, its eyes fixed on Ezrianna with an unnerving intensity. She tried to stand, but her legs felt like jelly. The magic she had summoned earlier was fading, leaving her vulnerable."You should have stayed out of this, little witch," the werewolf sneered, its voice dripping with malice. "Now, you'll pay the price."Ezrianna tried to defend herself, but the werewolf was too powerful. It pinned her to the ground, its claws digging deep into her shoulders.
