Mrs. Elara's face was a mask of frozen fury, her eyes blazing with a fierce, unyielding anger. Her breath came in short, quick gasps, as if she was struggling to contain the anger that threatened to consume her. The classroom was silent, the students holding their collective breath as they waited for her response.
But before she could speak, Eclipse's voice cut through the silence, his words dripping with venom, with contempt. "What's happening, cat got your tongue? Tsk tsk, I don't know why I expected much from you, seeing the only thing you are good at, is being a slave, never talkng back to your mas—"
But he was interrupted by a feminine voice, a voice that was as cold as ice, as empty as a void. "That's enough," the voice said, the words echoing through the classroom like a slap.
Eclipse turned his head, his eyes narrowing as he caught sight of the owner of the voice. She was a girl, a girl with straight black hair that scratched the nape of her neck, with black eyes that seemed to bore into his very soul. She was standing at the front of the classroom, her back to the blackboard, her eyes fixed on him with a blank, emotionless expression.
"What did you say?" Eclipse asked, his voice filled with emotion of surprise, stunned even.
Eclipse's eyes widened in surprise, his face twisting into a mask of incredulity as her voice lashed out again. "I said shut up," she responded, her voice laced with tiredness.
Eclipse expression didn't change, his eyes didn't flicker. He simply stared at her, his gaze unblinking, unwavering. "So you think that by telling me to shut up, I would?" Eclipse asked, his voice dripping with curiosity with a hint of amusement.
The girl's response was immediate, her voice cutting through the silence like a knife. "I don't think, I know," she said, her words dripping with an icy, detached confidence.
Eclipse's eyes narrowed, his face twisting into a mask of anger, of frustration. "Am sorry, my queen," he said, his voice laced with sarcasm, with mockery, "but I only do what I want."
The classroom was silent, the students holding their collective breath as they waited for the girl's response. But she simply stared at Eclipse, her eyes unblinking, unwavering. She didn't speak, she didn't move. She simply existed, a presence that seemed to fill the entire classroom, then simply ignored him even beaconing for the teacher to continue.
Eclipse's eyes flashed with anger, with frustration. He didn't like being ignored, he didn't like being dismissed. He was used to being the center of attention, used to being the one in control. But this girl, this strange, emotionless girl, seemed to be taking that away from him. The one who was named Raphael, the snatcher of his birthright.
He stood up took a step forward, his eyes blazing with a fierce, unyielding passion. "You think you can just ignore me?" he asked, his voice dripping with contempt, with disdain. "You think you can just dismiss me?"
But the girl didn't respond, didn't react. She simply turned to stare at him, her eyes unblinking, unwavering. She didn't seem to care, didn't seem to notice. She simply existed, a presence that seemed to fill the entire classroom.
Eclipse's eyes filled with anger, with frustration. He didn't know what to do, didn't know how to react. He was used to being in in the spotlight, used to being the one everyone adored. But this girl, this strange, emotionless girl, has taken that away from him that away from him.
He took another step forward, his eyes blazing with a fierce, unyielding passion. "You're going to regret ignoring me," he said, his voice dripping with contempt, with disdain. "You're going to regret dismissing me."
But the girl didn't respond, looking
at him like a circus animal.t
Then the girl spoke, her voice was like a slap in the face, a cold, calculated rebuke that left Eclipse reeling. "I'm not seeking your opinion, if I tell you to shut up you shut up," she said, her words dripping with an icy, detached confidence.
Eclipse's eyes narrowed, his face twisting into a mask of anger, of frustration. But as he looked at the girl, younger than him, berating him like that, something inside of him seemed to click. The anger receded, replaced by a darker emotion, a hate so deep that it seemed to burn within him like a fire.
His eyes seemed to glow with an inner light, a malevolent intensity that made the girl take a step back, her eyes widening in surprise. "I wish you lot should die, or better still be consumed by Nether," Eclipse spat out, his voice venomous, his words dripping with malice.
He looked at his classmates, waiting for their rebuke, but no one paid him heed. They weren't even looking at him, their eyes fixed on something behind him. Eclipse turned his head, his gaze following theirs, and what he saw made his blood run cold. It was at that moment he realized that Raphael stepped back not because of him but because of the now burning sky.
Outside the window, the sky was burning. Literally, the sky was on fire, but it wasn't the usual orange-colored flames that he was used to seeing. No, these flames were different, an ethereal shade of purple and black, with pink lightning illuminating the dark clouds.
The classroom was silent, the students frozen in shock, as a pink orb bolted out of the sky, heading in their direction. "What is that?" Eclipse asked, his voice barely above a whisper, his eyes entranced by the beauty of the orb.
"It seems to be coming in this direction," someone whispered, their voice trembling with fear.
But before anyone could respond, Mrs. Elara's voice cut through the silence, her words filled with despair. "Nether," she screamed, her voice anguished, her eyes wide with terror.
The word barely registered in Eclipse's mind before the orb collided with a district close to their school. The impact was immense, the sound of the explosion like thunder, shaking the very foundations of the school.
The classroom erupted into chaos, the students screaming, crying, and running for cover. Eclipse was frozen in shock, his eyes fixed on the destruction outside, his mind reeling with the implications of what he had just seen.
The place the pink beam landed, all that was left of the district was a huge Crater, so wide, so deep, the only thing present on it was a pink colored lava that even from the distance was felt by him.
Nether, the very word sent shivers down his spine. It was a name that was whispered in fear, a name that was associated with destruction, with chaos, with death.
As the reality of the situation sunk in, Eclipse's mind went into overdrive. He knew that he had to get out of there, had to find a way to safety. But as he turned to run, he stumbled, he turned his body in the air his back facing the ground waiting to roll off the impact, but as he fell, he fell into the waiting hands of Raphael who held him in a princess style , holding him from falling.
Raphael her eyes fixed on his, her expression calm, collected. "We need to get out of here," she said, her voice firm, resolute. "Now." If his current position wasn't awkward he would had asked if she had toes for brain, any one without brain damage would be running. What was she doing stating the obvious.
Eclipse didn't need to be told twice. He nodded, and together they ran out of the classroom, straight towards the bunkers as the sound of destruction, of chaos, echoed through the halls.
(The name of the girl is Raphael, it is a title for all clan leaders, so it may sound like a male name but it is just a title don't sweat the details)
